Does running everyday negate strength training?

Hey y'all.

For a while I've been exclusively running on a treadmill and I've lost a decent amount of weight... but now I want to build back up strength HOWEVER I want to keep running on the treadmill. Will it be really difficult to build strength if I'm running miles every other day or so?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Try H.I.I.T., high intensity interval training

Sprinting, then jogging, then sprinting, etc. It helps burn fat while keeping muscle compared to low intensity endurance exercises.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you just want pure strength, running on the treadmill every other day won't impede your gains in strength. However, if you wanted an increase in muscle mass, running on the treadmill for extended periods (say 40-60 minutes) would hinder that goal.

The only other way that I'd see running hindering strength gains is if you run first and lift second, as that might sap your energy before putting in efficient work with strength training.
