Is this really a sure sign of the economy still in a deep tumble. Is the US dollar really decreasing in value that fast? I mean we all remember when a dollar used to buy you a lot of things. $#@ is gonna become like a quarter here in a min.

The economy isn't getting better anytime soon. Don't believe what you read or hear.

Silver and copper has also gone up in price.

I'm just stunned that it went up this much since 07 (surprise, surprise

I know the firm I used to intern at is making a KILLING right now

You do know that considering inflation, gold was worth over 2100 in the late 80s. So no I'm not scared.

Apples and oranges? Although the extreme ramifications may be somewhat different, aren't we looking at something eerily similar?

I don't see where you see the connection. The housing crisis was self inflicted by trigger happy banks and American greed. Where that ties into gold rising and the dollar falling is beyond me at this point but please fill me in because I am interested in what you are attempting to get at.

When civilization crumbles, try bartering with gold.
I'll be bartering with old Chunky soup and cigarettes
