Its not a gift at all. There's an advertisement at the bottom of the page and its annoying as !%#$

You can link with your facebook/twitter but to be honest this is just a tool to advertise at the bottom of the page.

If you see this on your Navigation bar:

It is an invite to convert your profile to the new Yuku profiles. The new Yuku profiles are in BETA, so there are a lot of bugs right now.

DO NOT CLICK THE GIFT UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE MORE ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!

What to expect after profile conversion.

First, please know that once you decide to use the beta version of your new profile, you will no longer have access to your old Yuku profile. Switching from your old profile to the beta version of your new profile is a one-way step that cannot be retraced. If you don't feel comfortable taking this step, you may want to consider setting up a test account and checking out the new profiles with your test account first.

What goes where on the new profiles.

Below, we will give a summary of the profile blocks and explain where they go in your new profile.

The following HTML blocks currently on the old profiles will convert as HTML boxes on the new profiles:

- My favourite links
- My media
- People I look up to
- Upcoming Events
- Brands I like
- Places to visit before I turn 100
- My favourite Photos

If any of the above blocks are not enabled on your profile at the time of conversion, they will not show in your new profile.
All of those blocks will convert with public settings. Once they are on your new profile, you can disable them if you wish, or you can disable them before conversion.

The following blocks will be added to your "about Me" section in your new profile:

- Favourite Quotes
- Music I listen to
- Movies I like
- Books I like
- TV Shows
- Interesting facts about me (Images will be stripped out of this block)

The privacy settings of those blocks will follow suit with the privacy settings in your mini profile block.

Other blocks
- Comments about me: The text in the comments about me block will be added to your shout box. Images will be stripped out.
- Recent posts: If you have recent posts enabled in your old profile, the list of posts will be added to your new profile in the activity feed box.
- Tags block: Tags do not convert
- Today in History and map: Those do not convert.

Account settings:
- All of your account settings (time zone, editor preferences, online status, supporter status) will convert.
- Supporter accounts: Determine how many topics/replies you see per page has not been implemented at this time, but it has been taken into consideration in the conversion script.

Subscriptions:
If you have any subscriptions to communities, forums or topics, they will convert with your profile.

Notifications:
Email notifications have not been enabled yet in this beta profile release. However, your notifications settings will convert.

Mini profile details:
The following items will convert:
- Joined date
- Last seen date
- Total profile visits
- Total posts

Kudos:
Kudos are not available yet in this first beta release.

Privacy settings in your mini profile:
Your date of birth and your gender will be private after conversion, regardless of your original settings. This is to make sure we protect the privacy of profiles that were unconsciouly set to be public.

Photo albums:
If you have several albums with different settings, the most private setting will be used during profile conversion. For example, if you have a fully public album, an album that can only be seen by friends, and a private album, the settings of your albums will be private after conversion. You can make your albums public by adjusting the settings on your new profile.
It may take up to 48 hours for your albums to convert.

Friends block:
Your friends block will convert with all settings and all friends intact.
Pending friends will still be pending.

Blog:
Your blog will convert with all posts, comments, and settings intact.

Blocked users:
After conversion, please check your inbox privacy settings.
Path to follow:
Settings (in your navigation bar) -> privacy -> inbox privacy -> blocked list.
If you have ever marked private messages as spam, the senders of those messages will have been added to your blocked list.

Communities:
The communities you are member, owner or admin of will be added to your new profile during conversion. You will find them on the home navigation page (click Home in your navigation bar)

Multi profile accounts:
If you have an account with more than one profile, each profile can be converted separately.
However, once you convert one profile, the other profiles on your account will be displayed on your home navigation page, whether they have been converted or not.

Large amount of friends on your profile:
If you have more than 1000 friends, please contact us before converting your profile.

I wish I had known before I just clicked this thing. Its not the worst thing in the world but the advertisements are pretty annoying. Apparently you can link to facebook and chat amongst your NT or Yuku friends but I don't think I like it yet... we'll see. Just a heads up tho...

Internet explorer > Safari? Nahhh

I've had that every time I've logged in for the past month, if not more... I was skeptical about it, Good thing I never clicked it.

i've had that gift offer up there for a while now, i hope it just goes away seeing as though i have no intentions on clicking it.
