I was just thinking back to the dial up days when back in the day it took mad long to download music & vidoes... cats would go outside and shoot hoops andreturn back and your status bar would be at 83% for 3 songs...then ever so often when it was near completion someone would call and disconnect your connection

Anybody ever try to hide the noise when dial-up would connect late at night so mom dukes wouldn't know your on the computer. Man i remember when my mompicked up the phone at like 3am and she heard the static, she came downstairs with the quickness couldn't even hide the Jergens bottle in time and i wasabout to panic because i was trying to close off like 6 windows all one time and the cpu almost frooze up with this big booty shortie on the screen.


Remember when you were mad happy that you could enter a thread that said [56K warning] or view Ninjahood pics.

I never had DSL...first thing i got was Broadband Internet. I did D/l a lot of music though.

But during the 56k days if my parents were coming into my room, i just pulled the plug on the computer to shut everything off.

Yeah when I first got DSL is when Napster just started. I dl'd so much stuff. I had a continuous dl for about 3 straight months.

when i first got DSL i straight went to forum sites and started downloading albums, instrumentals, promos and all type of crap. I started hustling aroundschool selling bootleg CD's for 3.00 had all the new cds and mixtapes early......my youngin days now it is just whatever

The worst is when you have found a good entertaining site, and you think it's all good, but then your security is compromised and you close out one windowwhich causes three more to pop up, and things get worst and worst.

So finally you get caught for looking at something that you weren't even originally looking at. Then your peeps are trying to take you to counselingbecause they think you have a fetish for pregnant women, vampire nuns, and midgets.

I was lucky my grandpa worked for HP, so I never had 56k we had ISDN, then when DSL first came out we got DSL in like 99.

I remember going from ISDN to DSL, man simply magical.

yeah i hated that. I remember AOL dialed like 20 something numbers just to connect... you would sit there mad anxious that its about to connect and then itwould skip on to another number and start back over again.
