i don't know what I'm seeing here...is this maybe a coming of age tale ?
sounds like some of that "new black" nonsense
Fashion trends and styles are cyclical in many cases. It is expected that the styles of the past, including that of early hip hop culture, extending to high tops to dashikis to the wears of Black Nationalists etc, very particular in their nature and grounded in the experiences of the time, will re-emerge in the style or flavor of current or future generations.
Not to sound "Get Off My Lawn'ish", but I'm totally lost as to how this new generation feels like they're justifiable in their whole high-jacking of generation X's contributions to fashion which were a direct result of their experiences. It's like they have no shame not having an identity.
...A.S.A.P. Rocky and Tyga should be ashamed of themselves. They're 26 years old, they're like REAL adults acting like post-adolescents.
Gives me a Dear White People kinda vibe. I like it.
And the main character's fits
This is just a movie, but...Damn. This new generation is so lost. No culture at all.
Well, Chanel Iman spends a whole 5 minute scene naked, so there's that. Go see it.Is there gonna be any nudity in this movie?
It's a couple of stars in that flick I wouldn't mind seeing nude

You got all this from a trailer, bruh?
I saw DOPE. Its a great movie. Like executive76 said, its essebtially the 2015 version of The Wood. (Shout out to Stacy ). Its a true to life coming of age film that is funny, but also has deep moments and a valuable lesson at the end.
Its not over done. Its not begging to prove how black it is with super stereotypical lines. Tyga and Rocky say a total of maybe 50 words combined. They're just there as celebrity cameos. Just an all around good film wih a solid cast of newcomers.
Definitely going to buy it when its released on bluray.
