What up NT - I used to post on here since like 2000 under the screen name 'galen' but I got banned for (of all things) getting into too many flame warsabout college football. I graduated from Cal in '08, and I'm going to Stanford for b-school in the Fall of '10 so I've basically just beenusing these two intermediary years to live the dream and chill out in SF and do things that I love.
I've been playing about 30 hours of poker per week ( http://niketalk.com/topic/85816?page=1) which I cranked up to about 40 this summer where I spent a few weeks in Vegas playing in tournaments. I worked at a really sick social networking / bettingstartup called Betable.com from September until March, and I've been working for Dr. Bob since then.
Dr. Bob ( http://www.drbobsports.com ) is the most famous sports better in the modern era, and it's pretty sick tohelp him out and get to see how all of his math models and stuff work. I'm helping him with his data, doing PR and marketing stuff and just finishedredesigning his website.
So anyway, the new site is up and I encourage you to check it out. There's a ton of free info and analysis on there during the season, and I wrote what isprobably the most comprehensive collection of sports betting essays available anywhere: http://www.drbobsports.com/essays.cfm?cat=0 . If you guys want to check them out, please do, and obviouslyholler at me if you find any typos or whatever.
Other than that, this thread is basically just for chatter so I welcome all questions that you have about Bob, the industry, online books, Vegas or whatever.Have it at!
