I suck at drawing, outside of the occasional stick figure. Drawing is a skill that I've long wanted to acquire. If any of you have any tips, tricks, orwebsites to help a beginner like me, they would be very appreciated.

I've stumbled over this site, posemaniacs, that's suppose to get you familiarwith different body orientations.

Lately, I've been using drawspace.com. It offers free drawing lessons for alllevels.

Shading is %%$*@*@ difficult. I'm using the standard #2 pencil and it's just not cutting it.

Can you guys post some of your drawings?

Read "How to Draw Comics The Marvel Way" By Stan Lee and John Buscema.

This is the best how-to-draw book ever published. It simplifies the approach to a point where anybody can do it.

Best way I learn was by taking a class. It was really to push me. Charcoal for me was the best way to learn to shade, Ill post some pics later after I editthem because they from a life drawing class.

Make it easier on yourself and get some proper drawing tools. Get drawing pencils (of varying hardnesses), a good eraser (I recommend StaedtlerMars plastic eraser), a kneaded eraser, and a blending stump (not necessary... you can just use paper towels and achieve the same effect but it'd be easierfor you). Drawing doesn't just consist of pencil either. Try a bunch of different mediums and see what works best for you. There's pen, ink, charcoal, pastels, etc.

Here's a recent charcoal drawing of mine.
