Dreamcast was revolutionary when it came out. It was an amazing system and my mind was blown

in a nutshell yup. it was underpowered too once the ps2 came out which had both a dvd drive and full ea support. was a great machine tho. played mine the other day. still have all my games in mint condition. including mvc2

Phantasy Star Online was my **** man

I was devastated when they closed down the servers

I even copped a GameCube to play it

Then they shut down the servers again

well PSO for GC was the first tool used to help backup GC games. It wasnt a total waste. That modem could fetch u some money back in the day.

You could download and burn games and they played no problem. Just one issue. System was way ahead of its time.

Piracy definitely killed it. My boy gave me like 80 games for a dub

2K sports was cool, don't think lack of EA was a huge deal. The piracy and no DVD support were enough

^yea this video game store in my local mall use to have all the Dreamcast games. Didnt realize till i was older that all of them joints were burned copies and not the original discs.

man i bet they screwed a ton of people. not all dcs could play copied games without modification if i recall. unless a boot disc came about for the systems made after 2001

sega pulled da plug because although they was smashing da ps2 statewide, they were losing in japan and they felt

it was done if that was da case..stupid thinking. funny think is they pulled da plug for da saturn for da same reason backwards..

da saturn was SMASHING playstation in japan, but it was a losing ship in da US so they pulled da plug on it.

If I remember correctly, PS2's advertising campaign completely washed Dreamcast. They pretty much cut their legs out from under them. Part of that was PS2 immediately put out a mass number of games while Dreamcast produced them at a slower rate. I hated this happened too. I remember my parents buying my a Dreamcast at the original price, then not too long after, PS2 pretty much put them on the shelf like Papoose. I didn't get a PS2 until 03 cause I was still holding on to Dreamcast thinking it would come back. Then my VMUs died and it was over

I remember playing the 2k demo at best buy and being mind blown at the announcers being able to give updates on shooting percentages and overall gameplay. It was as if I was watching a real NBA game.

Yea Dream cast was heat. I didn't ever get the memory pack just had a few games for it. i remember when the Marshall Faulk was the **** I only played with the Rams lol

I still remember getting the Dreamcast on Christmas. Me and my brothers played NFL 2K from since we opened the Dreamcast till we went to sleep at night.

Probably the only game ive ever played for that long in my life.
