So here is the long story short,
-I got a DUI in CA as a minor (17yrs old) Back in 04.
-I never was charged for it, for some reason they chose not to file against me. (didn't pay any fines, no court, no community service etc.)

BUT.. my drivers license was suspended for a year by the DMV.
-I got my license back and paid the reinstatement fees and have been driving since.

Now my question is. Will this show up on my driving record? and if so for how long? any information would be helpful

I'm asking because the job I am applying for does a full background check. I know its not on my criminal record, but DMV record..?? anybody with similarsituations

EDIT: So I must add my job does require driving, my previous job also ran a DMV check but that was 3 years ago. They decided to let me prove myself and let meget the job since the company was self insured. But now its been almost 6 years since the incident, you guys think i'm F'd for this new job?

Your driving record is different from your criminal record.
yeah it was never filed against me in criminal court, but DMV thought otherwise and suspended my license, and it showed up on my driving record. Anyone knowhow long it will take for it to come off? some people are saying 10 years.. but would it be different since i was a minor and no criminal charges were filed?

you're in the same position as my sister. I think it stays in your record. she got lucky like you and only got license suspende (no fees etc)

depends on background check type, usually its local/state/fed criminal record and if you werent charged u should be good. unless the job requires driving

its a myth that moving violations "come off your record", that is for insurance purposes only. If you have a horrible driving history, be it 5, 10 or20 years ago, if a cop runs your record they will see any violations you have received. If you want to know if a past DUI is "on your record" then goto the DMV (or whatever your state office is) and ask for a copy of your driving record. Or go into the police station and have then run your license, justthat easy.

my guess is you dont have anything on your record, since DUI's are a very serious offense and you more than likely had to pay the court or some lawyer somemajor bread to get you out of it and I think you would remember that..........

I got a DUI 3 years ago and it will be on my record for 10 years.
