(dumb) HD TELEVISION question?

Hey question. I am a very new HD tv owner and I have a question that's probably very dumb. Could HD programs that use intense light and colors like a discovery television special on supernovas ( basically an orgasm of light and colors) - can those programs damage my HD tv? I have a sharp aquos btw.

No, that's what the tv was made for to show all of them color. Before the only thing that could damage the tv was like a banner that did not move. Like the score board from a football or basketball game. But with new tv and advances in technology the ghosting problems have gone away.
