early 2000s swag

The tag still on the jacket. :lol

I wore some dumb *** **** too. I wish I still had my girbaud tees though. The ones with all the crazy looking paint on them.

The jeans not so much... I never rocked the straps but I had every color in the girbauds with the knife holder on the leg.

Nike-Air-Force-1-Low-‘Invisible-Woman’-blue.jpg

Horrendous in any year, decade, era, etc.

Remember layering different color tall tees to coordinate the fit?

With your girbaud straps rubberbanded up so they didn’t bleed on your forces.

I remember the Dora backpack with the nascar jacket.

I seen a man rocking girbauds last night downtown.

Wasn't sure if he was homeless or had just got out the joint after a long bid

I be looking at old pics like "***** you was trippin trippin "

The worst is going through storage and finding NICE jackets, hoodies, jerseys, tees, etc. from brands that are actually resurfacing but you have to basically give/throw away because they're a size XXXXXXXXL. :smh::smh::smh::smh:

- Preciate it.

I need direct proof of that. I refuse to believe that

dont own anymore baggy jeans, but essentially you take da extra slack from da bottom cuff of ur jeans, gather em into a point, and tie em down into da laces...

here's a quick mock up... haven't done this since 2004

da piece of jeans that would've been tied under da laces you can pull so da rest of da cuff wont drag behind da sneakers, once you achieved da desired fit, you tuck everything under da stacking of your baggy jean leg so you can't see its actually being secured by laces.

thats da finished product, you couldn't see it was being held by laces, you could adjust how tight or loose, and you could run, and jump without fearing of it coming undone. ya want NYC baggy jeans era regional style/ tricks of da trade? there it is.... this post is probably da few on da internet that documented this lost art of da baggy era.

I remember that lol

It was that, the sock tuck and the rubber band.
The sock tuck is like the unsaid universal sign of "i got it/know where its at," down here.
It's still done in the hood

Also cats used to pull up fatigues mid shin and tie the tassels

Never heard of that technique. I definitely did the rubber band cuff.

This reminds me...Every once in a while I see dudes that either used time travel from 2003 or had outfits saved up for the day they got out of their 15 year sentence. They're definitely not homeless, cause the tall tee looks too crisp, the 2 sizes too big New Era has the sticker on it, the baggy jeans look too shiny, the rectangular earrings take up half their ears, and the Team Jordan Elites look brand new. They always have a confused or upset look on their face like "What the @#%@ are all these people around me wearing" as if they're the normal ones

yup, and girbauds automatically could adjust via da straps...guess thats why they were popular among da youth.

Yo can I liveeeee! Jay was def the first reason I ever owned a button down shirt...lmao I was shopping at express every Thursday before hitting ladies night at wrbster Hall

You guys AND Jay Z were late. We were doing those in So Cali back in '98 / '99. I was surprised when that dude tried to take credit for something that had a few years already.

it worked, cuz i don't know anyone doing that before hand....funny thing is there's a generation that became washed right when that trend popped off, so you see these fogie old cats in da club in "grown & sexy" nights stuck in 2003-20004 button ups big wit a yankee fitted on :lol:
