I'm looking into a v6 coupe as my next car, any pics of tastefully modded ones? Any problems I need to know of before purchasing one of these cars?Anything else oin general I need to know? Thanks in advance NT

Yes 6th gen coupes look better, but these don't have those nasty transmission problems(on the v6) I've heard about.

The 7th gen V6 auto transmission is still faulty.....just at a smaller percentage than the 6th gen and CL. My mom's 07 AV6 sedan already had the ******replaced at around 25k miles. I had an 04 AV6 coupe..in the 10 months of having it, I never had an issue with it. I traded her in at around 18k miles.Here's a pic of mine...horribly modified. I thought it was cool at the time, lol. 5% limo tint, Borla catback, Injen CAI, V6p grounding kit, Neuspeed frontstrut, TL rear sway bar, Roja wheels, HID kit, HFP suspension.

Yeah I budgeted on a lot of mods, mostly on suspension and wheels and HID. I should've gone with coilovers and a nice set of 20'' inch wheels,but the cost of a nice set of 20s and 25 series tires are too much for me at the time.

how much would projectors with HIDs be? 20 might be a lil too big though, 19s are perfect for that car from what I've seen. I have seen pics of an accordon 24s and a TSX on 24" dub floaters, looked crazy, and not in a good way.

I'm not talking about that Dirty South style, man. My boy had 20s on his AV6 slammed on Tein SSP and it looked real good. A good retrofit headlightswould run about $1,000-2,000 depending who you go with and if you want bi xenon or not. Factor in $1,500 for coilover and probably $3-4k on a nice set ofwheels.

I live in Alabama, so I see HUGJ chrome wheels quite often on just about anything Midsized and up. Some(like Some Asantis) can look good, but man do they cost,I like chrome, but I don't want the ghetto look even though I admitted kind of like it, ultimately, I'd want something like I posted above. Thanks forthe help! Also, I'm going to start scouring junkyards because 1-2 stacks on some HIDs w projectors is wack, I think I might be able to find the same thingsif I look in the right places. I'm still pretty open to alot though. Is there anyway to put a double din HU in the stock position?

How are you going to do projectors yourself? All 7th gens came with halogen headlights. You need projectors of some sort, a lot of people use the E46,S2k, and TSX projectors..that's the easy part..obtaining the parts. The hard part is the LABOR. You know how to properly bake open the silicon and dremeland mount the projectors and reseal them w/o any moisture leaks? Yeah you can put a double din head unit..but that requires custom fabrication..which means$$$. Go on V6p, search for pix of member 'brex'...he has a double DIN inside, RL engine swap, supercharged, wide body, etc. I think his car is an 03or 04, I can't remember.

Transmission failure. It's common for CL owners, older TL owners, and 6th gen AV6 owners to be on 2-4th transmission. The automatic I4 is finethough, it's only the auto V6 that's a problem.

Yeah, and the i4 is too slow, I currently have an Acura Vigor(broken down though), which is roughly as fast as the 4 banger, and its not fast enough for me lol

put an OEM/small lip spoiler and that thing would be beyond perfect, as it is, its dead sexy, that might be the car that made me want a 7th gen coupe
