got tired of reading about the bum wizards...if they can't get anyone for that pick they are in foranother long season
roll.gif

as for the lake show, it will be a tough series but they will handle the Portland, I mean the Denver Nuggets....and I hope u Cavs fans don't think Orlandowill be a cake walk, they have A LOT of matchup problems, and Orlando is one of the better road teams out there…

orlando will bring matchup problems to the cavs..they have a good shooting team that can stretch the cavs defense. lebron will get his pts regardless, but whoelse will step up? mo williams again?
laugh.gif

lakers got a tough win last night. we'll see how they do on thursday.

mo williams, wally and d west have to match up with skip, lewis and turk....ummmm i'm gonna have to go with orlando on the matchup...

and the nuggets will self destruct just like portland used to, and even if they don't they will NOT beat a battle tested laker squad....point blank...andif they come close just really think about it, would D Stern really have the nuggets in the finals? LMAO!

I think the nuggets can beat them honestly, they just showed a little rust from that time off. And if orlando continues to not feed dwight howard we'll seehow well they do

Nuggets looked nice last night,I did not know carmelo knew how to play Defense he was doing a nice job on kobe in the 4th,but Lakers did what they had to domade plays in the 4th,there bench did real nice, that was the big difference in the game.

Lakers will win the series... it will be tough though.

Gasol has to be more aggressive and also there was too many turnovers. Melo is a monster and I dont know who is gonna guard him.

David Stern would lose his Lunch if the Rich & Creamies made the Finals for real.

Nuggets are going to have to Blow the Lake Show OUT if they want to make the Finals. The Officials will whistle the Lakers into a win if its close. Can youimagine Stories being done on Birdman, Melo and K-Mart if they make the finals???

The Nuggets PR group doesn't like setting them up for interviews.. The NBA will tell the Media to keep it brief lol

ariza isn't checking Melo he is on billups, and the nuggets made bonehead plays down the stretch and thats how they lost...free throws or not theydidn't stop Kobe and made silly fouls....thats what lost the game....they can let melo go off just can't let anyone else get buckets....lakers in 5

Bron stans are driving me crazy.

Nuggets should won last night. Poor execution down the stretch tho. Anthony Carter (
smh.gif
) does NOT need to be in the game at crucial times. Series is definitely winnable if the bench comes through (especially JR) and we get more thuggeryand tattoos from Birdman and KMart.

Lakers in 5?
laugh.gif
Ariza was checking Melo for a period of time, as didOdom and Kobe (to no avail). Melo is playing incredible ball right now.

Lakers in 5... IF bynum shows up and plays his game. Him and Gasol can run circles around Martin and Nene. Gasol is toughening up on defense and is doing agreat job on the boards as of late. Hes also facing up against the stronger dudes instead of playing with his back to the court. Bynum just needs to give thelakers that extra boost because we all know Odom is off and on.

Ariza can definitely play up on melo..dont lunch..it should be a good matchup tho. I just cant see who is going to stop Kobes mid range jumper that he loves toshoot...jr smith? nah

Nuggets will need billups and melo to have another AMAZING series and a prayer.

Cavs in 7...the Magic are straight up SOFT but they can ball. Both teams play very well TOGETHER. They run their offense well through their respective starsand it works for them. Cavs in 7 because they want it more and are mentally tougher because of Lebrons leadership skills. A bunch of mediocre players on thecavs think theyre stars lol

Watch the magic fall apart and cry like theyre known to do...

See Harm thats where ur wrong....Kobe doesn't have to get 30 every night for them to win....he got 40 last night bcuz no one else was on...Gasol had aquiet night, as did Odom and the rest of the bench mob....as for the bustin @#$ discussion its really never an end to it bcuz if u wanna b real no one can holdanybody in the league...with that said Lakers in 5, and Kobe won't get 30 every night...if he does I pray for Nuggets fans, just like i did for u suns fansLOL!

and i'm out like stoudemire's eye....

they will rely on varahoe and dwight will cook his breakfast...lol

Ariza can hang with Melo? were you watching the game? Melo was torchin Ariza! Then Odom. Then Kobe. No one on that squad can guard Melo.

and Melo did a better job on Kobe than I ever would have thought. but that's not gonna do the trick, especially all game.

%%@%# you trippin...

Ariza WAS checkin Melo

Kobe was on Billups up until the 4th when he switched up and started checkin' Melo....

Why? Cuz Ariza was gettin' his *%+ busted(nh)...

Everyone knowss you can't stop Kobe...

But please believe that if Kobe doesn't score 30 every game against the Denver...

Lakers will lose...Bet that!
I agree with you in that Kobe cannot slack in order for the Lakers to advance...

I don't agree in that he NEEDS to score 30 every game in order for them to win the series.

All Kobe needs to do is Lead the team and play smart consistent Basketball. We are better off as a team when Kobe is distributing the ball and making thesmart extra pass rather then taking a circus shot over 3 defenders (which he can make, but is not my point...).

This type of play by Kobe can only be achieved through the rest of the team stepping up and being ready to play. Not only does Pau have to step up and try toplay a physical series against Martin but the ENTIRE Laker team must be ready to step up to the plate.

To add to all of this I must say this, last night we played bad basketball. If it were not for the Nuggets making mistakes, missing free throws, Carmelo notbeing able to duplicate his 1st Quarter heroics, etc. etc. then we would have lost that game. Kobe needed to step up since the rest of the team was draggingbehind. He did so in the 4th and set the tone for the team. As soon as this happened the team followed. Kobe is capable of doing this EVERY game IF he isOn. It is in our best interest that he does not have to do this for 7 games. If like I said the Lakers as a team can step up and allow Kobe to set the toneand distribute the Rock then we should be headed to the NBA finals.

Carmelo was on fire in the 1st Quarter and no one can deny that. Another thing we cant deny is that he sometimes is a very streaky player.

Rather then Kobe having to score 30 a game I think it is safer to assume that Melo will have to drop 30+ every night in order to give his team a fair shot atadvancing.

I honestly think that his 1st Quarter performance can somewhat be atrributed to the fact that we indeed do not have anyone to "shut him down" butalso to the fact that we needed to adjust to the new matchup.

The proof is in the numbers...

Carmelo-
16 points in the 1st
4 points in the 2nd
10 points in the 3rd
9 points in the 4th

He went on a steady decline. While we do not have anyone who can naturally and efficiently defend Melo, I believe that adjustments will be made and it willbecome difficult for Melo to go 14-20 and 4-5 (from beyond the arc) AGAIN.

So to reitterate, rather then Kobe having to do something I think the pressure is on the Nuggets and Carmelo.

They had their chance to take HCA from the Lakers but failed down the stretch. This will only add to that pressure. The Media made the Nuggets the"Favorite" to take game 1 and many sports personas went as far as to choose the Nuggets in 6 making the Lakers the underdog. After the the victorylast night I think that the pressure is back on Denver. The lakers on the other hand have an opportunity to come out for game 2 with more confidence and withnew respect for themselvels after the unexplicable Rockets series.

Kobe on the other hand...

8 points in the 1st
10 points in the 2nd
4 points in the 3rd
18 points in the 4th

He stepped up when he needed to and hopefully he will be able to do this for the rest of the playoffs.

Lakers in 6, but if necessary we will get it done in 7.

Just my .02

P.S. I have to agree with some of you in that Ariza might be able to keep up with Melo. He is young, fast, and at times physical. He was top 10 in stealsthis year...

You're right thats why I said what I said...the Lakers are capable but have not been playing to their potential.

Ariza didnt have his best game yesterday and Melo is playing the best basketball of his life right now. I dont know how much longer he'll keep that up...ifhe does then granted he will continue to dog bammas. Thats still one person though.

The lakers played a damn near horrible game and still won
laugh.gif

and for those saying nobody on Clevland can stop Howard..who has stopped that dude?? nobody, its nothing new...whos going to stop Lebron? lol same !+*%different toilet...should be the better series of the 2...the magic have showed that they CAN beat the Cavs but the cavs are just too nasty at home..

What I tell u yea queen James went off but he didn't get much help from him other players, Howard abused the other post players before fouling out, andlewis and turk made big plays....and the frenchie even made an appearance LOL....cavs aren't finished but like I said it won't b sweet for them againstthe magic...they r now one of two teams who beat the cavs at home...we all know who yw other squad is LOL

The Cavs blew that game last night

I will give Orlando props they fought back and won in Clevland

Cavs other players need to step up

If Billups would have made some of his shots earlier and made his FT's think they would have won

Agreed. Good coaching is what brought them back in that second half...

Cavs MIGHT have lost the series there they need those home wins.

anyways, Nuggets need to tighten up tonight. Missed free throws were a killer as well as poor execution down the stretch. Hopefully they can rectify thattonight. Bench needs to show up too, especially J.R. Melo, just keep being Melo (word to Manny being Manny). Nuggs need to steal one cause Lake Show aintready to run in that mountain air. Somebody need to find Kobe's white girl and position her right behind the Lakers basket every half
