That is nothing but the truth.

But fans will be fans, haters will be haters, etc. etc.

I think that both series will either end in 6 or might go to 7.

In my opinion the championship will be disputed amongst the Lakers and the Magic.

The Lakers are my team but I have always like the Bulls and the Magic in the east, so it would be a real nice series to watch.

Frankly as a Lakers fan, I feel more threatened by the Magic then I do by the Cavs.

Both series should be very interesting to watch.

Cant wait for tonight.

anyways, Nuggets need to tighten up tonight. Missed free throws were a killer as well as poor execution down the stretch. Hopefully they can rectify that tonight. Bench needs to show up too, especially J.R. Melo, just keep being Melo (word to Manny being Manny). Nuggs need to steal one cause Lake Show aint ready to run in that mountain air. Somebody need to find Kobe's white girl and position her right behind the Lakers basket every half
laugh.gif

That's what you call getting banged on? He was running behind him trying to get a desperation block.

Look out..In the end it will be Denver vs. Cleavland..With Denver taking it home..They overshadow Melo alot but no that he has Billups it a done deal.........

ur not only claiming the nuggets will make the finals, but win it too?!? LMAO! u my friend are what they call SMACKED!

cav's will tighten up. On the other hand, i think the lake show is done. Their big men are soft.

On top of that no one said that we would sweep.

Like I already said, in 6 or 7.

Melo has a habit of inconsistency and I doubt that this series will be the exception.

On another note...

What about LeBrons circus shot tonight.
eek.gif

It wont matter though.

As long as the league PERMITS the Magic to win, it will be inevitable.

The Cavs are getting outplayed and out coached.

You cant blame Van Gundy or Turk for that 1 sec. shot.

Both Game 3's should be

as a Magic fan it makes me feel good that they won on a "miraculous" shot. Magic still got homecourt. 2 games in Florida = 2 W's

and Lake Show....I don't know about them. I don't think they gonna steal one in that mountain air. Nuggets haven't lost at home in the playoffs.

Neither had the Cavs. They had not lost anywhere, yet we all saw how that tuned out.

Like I said in many other threads and places...

Refs will be refs, the league will be the league, fans will be fans, haters will be haters...

Game 3 tonight. Lets Go!

Melo's rep is that of a winner. Championship his freshman year at Syracuse. Playoffs since he came in the league. You can't deny that dude is a winner.

As for the Cavs, of their 2 home losses, one of was courtesy of who? The Orlando Magic. The Cavs played 2 weak teams on their road to the ECFs, they'resupposed to sweep teams like the Pistons & Hawks. There is a difference between them not losing at home and the Nuggs not losing at home.

I clearly am not questioning his accomplishments.

It is well documented that he in fact has not been able to respond in clutch moments while in the NBA.

A.K.A. not being able to escape the first round of the playoffs, etc...

I am not a HATER, I am simply a REALIST...

I've liked Melo since that Championship no one expected him to win.

In a 6 or 7 game series it is indispensable for Franchise players to step up at clutch moments and give that EXTRA that is needed.

And like I said, his reputation DOES NOT precede him.

You sir are "misremembering" (word to Sir Charles). You do know that two years ago Melo led the league with game-winning shots. THELEAGUE, not Kobe, not LeBron. Not even his current teamate Mr. Big Shot. So what do you mean by he hasn't been able to respond in clutch situations? Hehasn't been able to get out the first round because if you look back to those years, The Nuggets as a whole were not as good, and they played teams that atthe time were competing for and in some cases winning the NBA Championship. You can't blame him if he was going up against Defensive minded teams like TheSpurs who knew he was the primary focus....

Regardless of the outcome, Melo is the true winner of this year playoff- dude finally has a stage to perform and is doing it. Moving from a star to a superstarin front of us all.

I'm a Melo fan...

But like I said I am foremost a Lakers fan. From California. On top of this I am a realist...

I'm not saying dude cant play. I am saying that he has a habit of shutting down at bad moments.

Numbers don't lie. He plays his best ball in the regular season.

Yes he has a better shooting % in the Playoffs compared to the regular season but percentages don't get you W's.

His rebounding game goes down in the Playoffs and his Assists don't really improve.

I'm not saying that his numbers are bad or that he is a bad player.

All I am saying is that he is not known to step up in the playoffs. Without him stepping up 7 games the Nuggets dont stand a chance IMO.

His numbers have definitely improved this year. No one can deny that.

But like I said earlier, the pressure is on him to step up EVERY game in order to win this series.

If Melo gets enjured and misses 1, 2, or 3 games do the Nuggets stand a chance?

I'm not lobbying for anything other then the truth, and the truth is that if both teams Played at 100% any given night, The LAKERS are the better team andwould win.

Nuggets have indeed been playing better. But you obviously did not understand what I wrote. If both played on any given day to their own FULL potential, theLakers would win.

More after the Game...

show me the inconsistencies in this year play-offs

$@!$+ has been Beasting!!

At the end of the day...YOU hoping he don't show up

He kept the nuggets close in game 2 and they were supposed to win game one..

they did what the need to do..win one in the staples center

what are ya'll gonna say when they win games 3 & 4?

Lakers big men are SOFT...

Bynum hasn't been on that big of a stage so he wont play at that level...

JR hasn't gotten hot yet...but when he do...

keep thinkin' +*!% is ok...

Nuggets are gonna finish what the rockets started

Carmelo Antony:
FGM-A- 4/13 = 30%
3PM-A- 1/7 = 14%

Son he fouled out! I'll let the numbers speak for themselves.

When you chose to argue with me you were arguing with history.

History has a funny habit of repeating itself.

Melo let you down son.

On top of all of this the Lakers played like TRASH.

This doesn't say much for Melo and the Nuggets.

Lakers have been playing what seems to be at times unmotivated basketball. Yet they got the W in the fist trip to Denver.

What happened to the Nuggets "Not loosing at home" statements.

Like I said I don't like getting ahead of myself when it comes to anything.

All I've been doing this whole time is defending my team in an objective manner and letting Melo's past performances speak for his game.

This was a MUST win for both teams.

Melo had the EDGE. At home against the much hated Lakers and Kobe Bryant. He failed. He chokes at the wost moments. Nothing new.

Lets get ready for game 4.

I think that the Nuggs will win game 4 but like I've been saying. We got them in 6 or 7.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lets Breakdown Melo's performance...

3rd Quarter

11:33Anthony Turnover : Bad Pass (2 TO) Steal:Bryant (2 ST)
08:13Anthony Driving Layup Shot: Missed Block: Bynum (3 BLK)
05:33Anthony 3pt Shot: Missed
05:21Anthony Foul : Shooting (3 PF)
05:01Anthony Foul : Offensive (4 PF)
05:01Anthony Turnover : Foul (3 TO)
04:46Anthony Substitution replaced by Smith

4TH Quarter

09:26Kleiza Substitution replaced by Anthony
08:23Anthony Jump Shot: Missed Block: Ariza (1 BLK)

07:06
[DEN 81-81]
Anthony Free Throw 1 of 2 (19 PTS)
07:06Anthony Free Throw 2 of 2 Missed
06:07Anthony Rebound (Off:0 Def:4)

04:14Anthony Jump Shot: Missed
03:06Anthony Foul : Shooting (5 PF)

02:19
[DEN 92-92]

ok yes Melo didn't show up game 3 but to say he is a habitual 4th quarter ghost is a bit much. numbers don't tell the whole story of how he performs incrucial moments. Nuggets have been constant low seeds before this year so they've been playing top teams in the first round, THAT'S why theyhaven't gotten out of the first round. Dude has proved at least this post season that he can make the shots and plays when it matters.

Nuggets are clearly showing they can compete with the Lakers. To say otherwise is ridiculous. They played bad last game but to say it couldn't possibly be2-1 the other way is just ignorance. We'll see how they rebound in game 4.

I hope there are no more Cavs fans checking this thread at this point. If so....KILL YOURSELF

All I was saying from jump street were a few simple things.

1) Melo breaks down at bad moments.

He proved this in the 2nd half of game 3.

Point proven.

I didn't say that after a breakdown he will remain that way.

So don't twist my words.

2) The Lakers are the better team.

Regardless of who is playing better at the moment (The Nuggets were playing better).

3) I contested the fact that the pressure would be on Kobe, like some of you stated in this thread.

The pressure is on Melo.

Did you see dudes body language after game 3? It was as if he lost the series.

4) Since the jump I stated that I thought the series would go to 6 or 7.

Never said we would sweep or anything of that sort.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The numbers show a pattern of Carmelo doing worse in the post season.

Regardless of who they played against his individual performances were worse.

Every series he had GREAT games and yet he had 8 point nights in all of them.

All I was pointing out since the go was that I thought this series would NOT be the exception.

You guys wanted to argue against that and were proven wrong. GAME 3.

I have proven my point.

Melo might or might not go for 40+ in whats left in this series. All I'm saying is that he has a habit of doing what he did in game 3 at the worst momentsand that it might happen again. THAT IS ALL.

I never said he was a bad player.

This series could easily be 3-0 2-1 in favor of EITHER team.

Yet the Nuggets are for the most part playing the better ball.

But who is up in the series?

My point exactly.

If the Lakers would have gotten that clear jump ball violation in game 2, they would be up 3-0.

Maybe? They might have come out in game 3 and been lackadaisical as they are known to be at times. It would of still been 2-1

Hypothetical situations are just that. HYPOTHETICAL SITUATIONS.

At the end of the day we are up playing sloppy inconsistent basketball.

Get ready for game 4.

P.S.

To already brush of the CAVS my friend is in itself ignorant.

As much as I want the Magic to beat them, it is VERY ignorant to count the Cavs off.

All the games have been close.

We all know that LeBron is going to get ALL the calls.

Its only 2-1 not 3-0.

SMH if you think they are done.

Besides all of this the league wants them in the final.

LOL if you think its already won.

But I am rooting for Howard and crew.

cavs are done, lebron is only one man...the role players are doing nothing....mo williams is playing like some doo doo

smh...u give up 20 offensive boards ur supposed to lose....so instead of heading home 3-1 the lake show heads back home tied up and should take game 5 and willclose in Denver.....i think LO will come out of his shell he's been in for the last series and a half

We Lost just as I expected/predicted.

We get complacent after hard fought victories that put us ahead.

We did it during the regular season and we did it again last night.

I guess we'll go to 7.

If we show up we got them in 6.

2 in a row is possible IMO.

Melo was MIA for the most part.

This had me LMAO. But at the same time SMH!

Lets just hope it doesnt get out of hand.
smh.gif

On another note. I cant wait to see the game tonight. Like stated earlier, I'm rooting for the Magic. I still wouldn't mind a Cavs win tonight justto get things interesting.

Lets see if Mo can come out and have the game of his life.

He better after "Guaranteeing" that they will get to the finals.
