eBayer bidding at the last second then not paying until days later unnappreciation

I am guilty of this.

Lets say it is a Wednesday and payday is Friday, item ends at night on Wednesday. I know Ill have the money so I am still going to bid cause i am going to pay it just not on the spot.

3 days to me is the max to wait.

whats worse to me is sellers bidding on their own items on different accounts, seen so many re-listings of shoes on my watch list because the price goes ridiculous high. These things get like 20+ bids too so I doubt that many dead beats not paying.

eh. if I'm using a sniping service that bids at the last second... it's b/c I know I'm not going to be able to get to a computer for a bit.

ebay should enforce a automatic payment once the auction ends, I use to do nothing but auctions but seriously only half the people would pay.

this is the reason why ebay is now 80-90% BUT IT NOW.

If their situation is messed up, they have no reason being on eBay bidding for items waiting until that next paycheck clears.

I had worse yesterday. I bought a bike for my dad - been looking for a while and found one about 30 miles away for a decent price - not too cheap but reasonable for what it was.

I won the auction and the guy emailed me a couple of hours later asking what my 'plans are' as he had someone local wanting to pay cash - and I would assume more.

I didn't even give him the option - just said I would be along at a convenient time to pick it up and pay as the auction stated.

Didn't hear from him again and I just I looked at my feedback today and he gave me a positive - saying 'Thanks for bidding, item has been sold elsewhere'.

What a jerk. Shame he's stuck with the fees on a $500 purchase too.

Not a lot I can do - just a crappy situation.

It is and this is happening more and more on eBay it seems. The auction is a contract and should be treated as such. There needs to be a way to report users who do this.

Happens to me all of the time and the majority of my items end at  $20-30. How can you bid within the last minute and not pay until 3-4 days later is beyond me. There are plenty of people selling the same thing as me with longer payment plans so why not buy from them?

I require 24 hours to pay (more valuable items are up to 72 hours) because most of my items are time sensitive and they lose value after about a week. On top of that I ask nicely to "PLEASE DO NOT BID" if you can't pay within the time in all of my listings and I still end up with them. Some have over 1000 feedback. Like my first neutral feedback from another seller that sells the same thing as me with over 1000. He didn't pay on purpose so he could leave neutral (wanted to leave negative) to try and damage me and expose himself I guess. You get two invoices with payment instructions and you still just ignore them?

I'm kind of glad though because everyone has been paying since.
