So my girlfriend and I recently broke up. She said she wants to experience things and has been in a relationship her whole life and she wants to work on herself and her career.

Now this is partly my fault because I didn't act like I wanted her and wasn't the best I could be. But this is the one.

Now she wants to remain friends but I decided to give her space since she told me that.

We have been talking but rarely and sometimes I don't reply to her

She sent me a so you don't want to talk anymore text. How do I reply because I want her back and love her but don't want to ruin anything ?

Keep it moving my man. From experience the relationship is done. Same bs happened to me. Things was never da same after we had some time apart. I banged a few females and she got pregnant by her ex. As much as u think you lover her its other females out there. Make the right move

dude she wants to be a sloot, she's at that stage in her life nothing you can do about that.

There is a chance that you could get back with this girl in the future by just remaining indifferent right now and just leaving her with some sort of positive image about you without looking like your desperate.

you never want people to leave you with some sort of negative emotion because from then on, when they think about you they associate you with the negative.

Don't go spill your guts out to her about how you treated her badly and what not, makes you look weak. If she's asking why your not responding back to her it's prob cuz she's not getting the same attention she used to get. Don't fall into the trap of feeling bad for her.

Craft a good reply like "I took what you said to heart and i think you do need your space"....she'll get mind****** and wonder why and you don't answer that question.

I mean....you could always be her friend. Her emotional support that she still needs and is used to while Tyrone reaps the physical benefits.

That's fair, right?

Remaining friends takes the guilt away from her. She can't possibly be that bad of a person if she can break up with you and you remain friends with her, right?

Just tell her "I am just trying to give you the time and the space to work on yourself and your career" Something vague and distant like that. After all, right now you have the advantage, because she is wondering about why you dont answer her.

But one thing you also have to understand is that you two are not together right now. So you CAN be salty about the things that she does, but never under any circumstances let her know that. You want to keep that mental advantage at all cost. If she knows that you are getting jealous of other men, she will have you jumpin through hoops for her affection

There is some one else OP

OP you also gotta realize if this broad is really worth it to go through all the effort instead of focusing on yourself and starting anew with someone else.

I still think you should write something vague like what Jay and I said but another part you may want to include is: "I took what you said to heart and i think you do need your space to work on yourself and I think I do as well with myself and my career"

*key here is don't mention her working on her career, make it about herself like theirs something wrong with her.

ah yea, the favorite text of the passive aggressive female, essentially dooming you know matter which way you answer.  sounds like what you're doing is akin to peeling off the band-aid as slowly as you can and the hair just gettin yanked out.  leave ol' girl be, improve on yourself like she seems to want to do (by the way, this is almost always a cop-out/lie but i dont wanna put words in your girls mouth so).  she's not 'the one', she's just 'the one right now'.  work on your career, use the negative feelings surrounding this situation to propel yourself to new heights and before you know it you'll be enjoying life way more than you ever have and this will seem like a small matter.  it's the best thing for both of you.

OP stay strong, stay silent.. dont "say" anything.. if she still wants to let you smash.. do so. but no meals, no dates.. treat her like she wants to be treated at the moment.

Only reason she wants to remain friends is because someone else caught her eye, and she isnt sure if he is really interested.. so she wants to keep you as a security blanket.. Don't go out like that.

leave her alone , you have to move on

as someone else said , groveling and trying to get her back is the wrong move . you have to understand that with women , giving them control over you makes you unattractive and in some ways makes them resent you

the reason she is texting you that nonsense is because she's used to the attention you used to give her and feels somewhat empty without it . that **** is none of your concern at this point ; she doesnt get to still keep the benefits and positives she got from you when you were together after she breaks up with you

and by the way -- theres no such thing as a girl "being the one" . who you are and what you need NOW is going to be different from who you are and what you need in 5 years . she might feel like "the one" now , but that in no way means she will feel like "the one" later on in life

fam -- i would say you shouldnt even smash at this point . OP still has so many emotions tied up with this girl that him smashing wouldn't just be physical . you gotta leave this chick ALONE -- basically act as if she doesnt exist anymore

Dudes ain't straying you wrong OP. I'll say it again, THEY ARE NOT WRONG.

It takes some time to heal and move on.  You'll make it bro

sorry bro but someone is already hitting that while you scrolling up your phone reading all texts from her. keep it moving and pipe at will

Well, this is true. Just think of it like this.. you all were "one" for however long.. then she decides to disrupt that connection due to her own selfish reasons. Now, she feels you owe it to her, to be her training wheels in walking her through courting another guy.

For me, I would get what I want out of the situation..and keep her around.. but if you're not built for that.. then, as prez stated..act like she doesn't exist .

Lets be honest, we ALL know what OP is going to do and following the knowledge you're trying to lace him with isn't one of them.

The human heart and emotions are a funny and complex thing. Makes us do things against our better judgement all the time.
Some lessons have to be experienced firsthand in order for us to truly grasp them.

I'm not bashing you either bro, I'm speaking from firsthand experience. All I can say is whatever the outcome make sure you LEARN from it.

i got out of 3 1/2 year relationship with a girl i had been on and off with since hs (which really added up to 6 years) . break up to make kind of situation but things hit a wall and we split. i totally cut her out of my life which was hard cause like my man common said " how can someone you about to marry, be on they merry way". whatever i always told her i was all in, and if we ever split there wouldnt be no friendship between us. im not trying to stick around and be a best firend for her whie shes getting piped down.

walking away is hard, not looking back is harder. if you want her back let it be known and if shes not with it, time to move on ( goes both ways) you get to a stage where you're older and dont have time for what ifs or this space crap.

we dont know how your relationship was so its hard to give advice. If you want her and truely feel she is the one tell her that and see where it leads. No one wants to live a life of what ifs...especially when it comes to someone you spend the rest of your life with
i say go after her man

How old is she and how old are you OP??
Now this is partly my fault because I didn't act like I wanted her and wasn't the best I could be definitely not my fault because she's just wants to get attention from other people.
Fixed.

Step 1: keep it moving and let her be

Step 2: Go to the Stay/Get back in shape thread and do you for a minute

Yep. You could be given the best advice we could come up with. Thing is, when you're heart's set on something, you can kiss your logical thinking goodbye because it doesn't stand a chance. You'll eventually spill and ask for her back. She may or may not give you another chance. Like D500 said, just make sure you learn from the experience.
