Express and Express Design Studio

Are these two the same brand?
I was at my friend's house and one of his dress shirts said Express Design Studio on it, he said it's made by Express and that it's old.
Just wondering if this is true?

My slacks from Express say Express Design Studio around the inside of the waist and they are less then a year old. I regret buying them though. The producerpants just look goofy unless you have a pair of shoes that can make them work

Express Design Studio is the higher end clothing made by Express. I really love their stuff, but think most of it is just a little overpriced.

I don't think that's true.

I have stuff that is a few years old that say Express Design Studio but none of my clothes I got from there within the past two years say that. They all sayExpress.

The Express Design Studio name I believe came about 3-4 years ago when they tried to rebrand themselves as a designer clothing brand. It obviously didn'twork since they've dropped the name. At least I haven't seen anything in stores currently that have that name anymore.
