TAMPA, FL -- Police say an 18-year-old is accused of raping his 7-year-old cousin. Mercedes AntwanFaggett was arrested on Sunday.
The victim told relatives that Faggett took him to a living room area of a home on North Myrtle Street during the early morning hours and forced him to havesexual intercourse, according to a police report.
Later in the morning, the victim told relatives what had happened. They called police and the victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated fornon-life threatening injuries and examined for other possible medical-related issues.
Faggett was later arrested and jailed on a charge of Capital Sexual Battery.
