Yo I`m a Soph. and right now I just entered a HUGE slump. I have a 3.19 right now and I was really banking on going ham all year but it's like everythingis taking a turn for the worse. It's to late to drop classes but I got a D in Accounting which I gotta pull MJ Numbers in to get a B, but is doable. And Igot like 3 Cs and an A

so far after midterm, being that majority of mymidterm grades were from only one assignment or half of the work there isn't much to worry about, but still the fact that those are the things recordedjust got me feeling
sick.gif
.

Whats the biggest holes you all ever dug around midterm and how did you all make it out?

Freshmen year of college was to easy, I was bussing Kobe numbers and not even trying. I`m not use to studying so all these concepts and crap for some ofmy classes are straight molesting the kid. haha then I think I got ADD cause I be in class just not paying attention to anything. Man I gotta get a min 3.0this yr just to keep my scholarship I`m not giving up hope but I know Spring I really gotta go insane.

Damn you gotta keep a 3.0 and you're slipping? I wish the best for you.

a 3.0 Would drop my 3.19 to a 3.095 so id still be good, but I dont want a GPA that low, I mean I`m trying to raise my GPA thats the main reason I`m mad. forone of my Cs dude hasnt even graded half of the assignments, because I know I got an A on midterm. Idk man gotta grind

I'd pull an F to an A from Economics. Get with it or get loss. Nah but I got really lucky teacher was really cool. Whatever you got on the final was yourgrade if you were doing bad. You know I had to work magic and get the A

You gotta really bust !#%, and sacrifice your weekends fam. I'd be tight as hell if my GPA dropped.

The bow-tie is too tight...cutting off circulation and depriving the brain of oxygen which is essential for clear and logical thought.

But seriously, you just need to put more study time in.

Been there, done that. Made it out alive.

I feel ya, up until now I've never studied in my life, everything prior I got through by, cheating and using common knowledge. Like now thetime consuming work has hit me, the most I can try is let my GPA barely move or drop by a decimal then go nuts in spring, but I really found this as a realitycheck, no more slacking.

I nearly failed a midterm (C-/D) and ended up with an A. Then again I aced pretty much everything after the midterm.

yea, haha one of my classes though we dont do squat but debate, and the one assignment we got I got a 76 on, I dont know how since I havent gotten my paperback, but that blew me because I should have an A in there. Those are the hardest classes to get back on track with because you dont even do anything that willhelp improve your grade.

Not really the same situation as you, but I feel I'm really falling off this quarter, but it's probably cause the workload is so much more this yearcompared to the last few years'....likely it's because it's the first time I've had all upper-division engineering courses (16 units worth). Iseriously feel lost in all my classes and that things could turn for the worst if I don't pick it up soon.

Well you have to learn to study. It takes time, patience, tolerance, repetition, etc. Spending hours at a time reading, doing practice problems, going to theTA's office, etc. is necessary. I remember doing all that..sometimes reading stuff 2-3 times before I get it. READ THE BOOK - not just the underlinedbold words. Some classes are cake, others are crazy hard.

I think society paints an off-setting picture of what college is - parties, beer, sex, nakedness. That's maybe 10% of it, the rest is studying, exams, midterms, finals, projects, presentations, research papers, etc.

But here's the thing, it's only 4 years of your life..so buckle down and get through it.

I feel ya man, I dont wanna take the L with coming out with a C or 2 this semester just out of the principle of it.

Solewoman, the computer stuff isn't the hard stuff, its all these Business pre-reqs and crap
mad.gif
, their not hard really I`m just not use to putting in effort because usuallyeverything just comes to me from the jump.

just set your priorities straight and lock down and just study..

Man i feel your pain. All of the grades i have been receiving recently have been from 70-79. And its only my freshman year. I am really in low spirits rightnow

I transferred from one school to another and first semester I slacked. But in spring I wasn't going down that road. But hit a snag in Psych 200..... but iwent from an F at midterm to an A. I was just real honest with my prof tho. I told her that I'm not a morning person and have a hard time waking up in themorning. After we had that convo I studied and aced the final...so just study and do ur work and u should be ok
