Break it with a small meal, hit the gym, then a bigger dinner but still healthy.

just be careful man. working out and fasting don't go together at all, you could easily send yourself into diabetic shock ( a sugar coma) if you workouthard and don't have the proper energy (food) in you.

I mean - you'll probably be alright b/c you just won't have the energy to workout very hard without a ton of food.. it's kind of the body'snatural defense against that. But you just might wanna consider taking it easy while fasting.

it goes either way, if you dont eat much when the time is ready to eat then you will lose weight. Doing this put your body in starvation mode. Your body willkeep some fat and you wont lose weight. If anything you can gain weight because of starvation mode ahha

I sent you a PM bro.

Answering your question: Yes, you will lose weight, but that depends on how much you eat and how often you eat during/after your Iftar. If you have a largeIftar meal and then eat again 3-4 times before the sunrises then no, you won't lose any weight.

If you are trying to lose weight (I don't think that's the intention of fasting during Ramadan) then I suggest you eat well before the sunrises anddon't go back to sleep. During you Iftar, I would eat until I'm satisfied. Remember, eat until you fill full. Do not eat just to eat.

If you can balance your eating habits during the month of Ramadan, you should be able to lose weight. Since Ramadan is in the Summer anyways, and if you'regoing to be outside you will have a higher chance of losing weight as well.

Depends. If you don't weigh much now and you plan on having massive meals in between fasts then you could very well gain weight. Back in WW2 when theywould rescue Jews from Nazi camps they would actually feed them one giant meal and then fast them for a day before feeding them again as this would cause themto gain weight at a faster rate. Of course they weren't doing any strenuous work while attempting to gain back any weight. So you'll probably end upabout the same.

wouldnt that just kill them? because their body cant handle to much nutrients since they have been malnourish

Well I wouldn't say they were feasting at first lol. Yes they took time to get them started but their bodies just straight rejected the food when theytried to feed them on a regular basis.

In the long run I just wouldn't expect more then a +-3 pound difference unless you're already at an extreme weight for your size right now.

I was thinking about it the past 2 years, but I'm not that religious so I decided against it.

My dad has done it for his whole life though. But then again he's a cheater

. He's had a night job forever so his schedule is all out of whack.Still hard, but not as hard as for others.

To answer your question. You'll obviously use wait, but chances are you get weaker. If you try to eat a bunch in your 1 meal for the day then you couldstart gaining fat while your losing that muscle.

You'll probably lose weight the first week or two, then your body will adapt and begin to store whatever you put in, resulting in maintaining weight orgaining some back.

Not healthy at all, but w/e its ur religion. So I won't write an essay on how that's terrible for the body.

This.

Last year, I lost weight during certain times I fasted because I did not stuff, binge, or overeat. However, years prior during Ramadan I would gain the weight.Basically, you are starving yourself ALL day. From sunrise to sunset, NO food or water, so fasting for a whole month will slow your metabolism. When you eatless food, your metabolism slows down to conserve energy. So when you go back on your old diet, your lowered metabolism may cause you to store more energy, meaning that you'll probably gain back the weight you lost and possibly even put on more weight when eating the same calories you did before the fast.

So, just listen to the advice others gave and make sure you eat controlled portions and do not binge eat. Also, you need to find ways to keep your metabolismgoing faster.

I see you are Palestinian too. Can't wait for my mom's cooking also and eating at dinner invites at other people's houses for iftaar.

Trust me I fast for Ramadan every year. Sometimes I gain weight. Most of the time I lose weight.

i need proper nutrition to follow my workouts and training

i remember one day my dad was telling me not to eat meat because of some holiday.... so i chugged like 5 protien shakes and mad beans and peanutbutter that daylol

Fasting isn't terrible for the body, if you do it correctly. I fast most days and my weight doesn't fluctuate too much unless I mess with energysources. If anybody wants to learn a good way of breaking a fast, look up The Warrior Diet.
For those of you that gained weight, I'm assuming that you didn't incorporate too many (raw) vegetables in your main meal and ate mostly junk foods, sweets, etc. I know how it is to celebrate breaking a fast.
OP, if you plan on eating a small main meal with inadequate nutrition, expect to lose a good deal of weight, and the weight that comes off probably won'tbe fat either.
If anyone has any questions about fasting or main meals, PM me.

To OP and other muslims posting, i respect your devotion for fasting; being Mormon i only have to do it the first sunday of the month and that is tough to mehaha. So anyway, good job
