So i already applied for financial aid for my '10-11 school year and turned everything in on time.
However, today i get an email from the school saying that I need to fill out a few papers and turn it in. I open up the file and look at the papers i need to print and i realize it mentions "Direct Stafford Loan Request Form"....I never got this before, and mind you this will be my 3rd year with financial aid.

So does this mean i gotta take out a loan?

I will go to the financial aid office tomorrow, but just wanted to see if i could get some insight of what im getting myself into. Thanks!

you dont have to take out a loan. there should be an option to decline it

Isn't it kinda late to be applying?

You'll get little to no money or they'll give you a big loan.

I work for a scholarship foundation (will keep it nameless)

You don't have to accept it but I would still fill it out. If you are receiving any scholarships/grants, whether it be Institutional or Outside, certain organizations like to review your financial aid package in full. Most common Loans usually accounted for are The Subsidized/Unsubsidized LOans, Perkins, and PLUS Loan in some cases.

Speak with your financial aid officer directly and figure out if your Award Package for Fa10-Sp11 had enough grants/scholarships to cover your total Cost of Attendance.

And YoungCurse...You can begin filling out your FAFSA docs now, but it is pretty late to attempt to get into school. You may want to look into applying for the Winter/Spring 2011 Term
