That's awesome you brought this up.  I actually work at Calit2.  I work directly with the researchers of that project as a computer programmer.  I develop these advanced graphical applications that run on giant tiled screen walls so that archeologists can observe, review, and modify large data sets.  A huge amount of technology is being developed there and it's awesome to go to work everyday and be part of that community.

As it is probably mentioned in the videos, they are trying to find this wall without removing or modifying any artifacts.  Another researcher is currently trying to find the tomb of Genghis Khan using this same type of non-invasive archeology.  He actually has his own documentary on National Geo: http://exploration.nationalgeographic.com/mongolia/content/forbidden-tomb-genghis-khan-airs-tonight-nov-9-9p-etpt .
