Firewall Windows 7... PLEASE HELP!

I'm using Windows 7.

I've tried ZoneAlarm and Comodo, but neither are compatible with Windows 7. I end up with the blue screen.

Can I just set up my firewall to block certain programs?

Info or guides would be helpful.
