FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Never thought about that.

Hmmm.
I'll keep that in mind.

Smoked this turkey last year. Came out well. Moist as hell. I don’t eat smoked turkey but the fam has me smoke like 2-3 every year. Fried turkey is amazing though.

Instructions?
Well it really depends on your grill or smoker type. The best rule of thumb would be about 45 min-1hr per lb @ 250degrees. I usually go around 300-325 degrees and can have a 10-14lb bird done in about 5 hrs.

I set my birds on grill first hr or two. Then in a pan. Maybe an inch or two of water, 2-3 sticks of butter, as you will be basting turkey with these juices throughout the cook. I would suggest watching the bird closely until it gets golden. Then you can loosely cover with foil and continue basting every 30 min or so. Sorry so long, I do a lot of smoking, grilling and bbqing.

What's the difference between jollof rice and Puerto Rican rice?

I never liked the idea of cheese on jigae... I never had it & will never try it. Feel like it would actually take away from all the flavors. It also seems kinda “foriegn” in terms of texture for a jigae...

Jollof rice=west african/Nigerian

Never had puerto rican rice...idk is that even a thing?

Its a real thing brother.

White rice with pigeon peas, sofrito, adobo season, sazon with achoite season, chicken broth, bay leaves, and a few other things. But these are the bases. This rice is very common in PR.
