FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Wasn't in the mood for dessert honestly. Just wanted some. Strips and a biscuit.

Popeyes always lets me sub out a side for an extra biscuit.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is Crispy Pata?

Edit - I did my Googles. I am now aware.

#Cultural Question.

How many of you routinely eat STAND ALONE cooked vegetables as a side item with your dishes?

I was telling a co-worker about the cabbages I have been making and her first question was, "What do you eat it by itself? or like a SIDE?" (Said with confusion: She is Italian-American).

I know I have spoken to Hispanic co-workers and they claim that they rarely ever eat a side of cooked veggies that ISN'T mixed into something else.

So how often does it happen in your household?
Growing up, how often did it happen in your household?

This is an interesting #Cultural (If found to be true).

(PS: Salads don't count since they aren't COOKED).

I'm meal prepping now so I'm throwing my steamed mixed veggies alongside my quinoa on a daily basis

Growing up in my house, if the main entree was meat, we usually had some kind of cooked vegetable as a side. Main ones were green peas, Corn-on-the-cob, Creamed Corn and steamed asparagus. A Baked Potato here and there.
