FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Just looking at a map, isn't that kind of out of the way for whatever else you'd be doing in Chicago? Did you have a car?

Best Italian ice in the city is Mario’s Italian lemonade on Taylor st
It’s a little stand so it’s easy to miss
It’s only open like 4-5 months each year

GOAT strips. Tennessee hot.

It's definitely a skill that you get better with overtime if you continue learning/experimenting.

What has and hasn't worked for yall?

NO disrespect.

The timing of when to pick stuff. Never get it just right. I think I need to research it more next time we plant something.

Did you do the mario kart when you went to Japan?
Nah, but there were some folks riding around in the streets of Ginza in Mario Kart outfits and karts.

Did you?

I know Super Nintendo World was scheduled to open this year, not sure if that happened due to the COvids.

Naw i didnt. I just saw Yoshi fly by outta no where one day

Did you feel uncomfortable in Japan?
Nope. Folks just do their own thing. Mind their business and go about their day.

Anytime i asked someone for directions/help they were more than willing to try and help. Shoutout Google Translate, cept that 1 time i was asking someone something and using the voice translate and it translated what i asked to "its going to thunderstorm tonight". The guy looked at me like 🤨

I’m going to be in that area so i’m really only looking for the convenience unless you have other recommendations :)
It doesn’t have to be tacos
I’m open to everything
But I’ll warn you that it’s kind of like a taco version of In-N-Out. Lots of people love it; some people find it overhyped when they try it. And Tito’s speciality is hard shell tacos, so there’s that too

There’s a lot of good stuff over there. Bunch of food places on Culver Boulevard in what’s considered Downtown CC. Honey’s Kettle Fried Chicken is there and good.

Then there’s Gloria’s on Venice, which is Mexican/Salvadora and was once on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. A few blocks away from it on Venice is Versailles, which is Cuban.
