FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Yeah those Chicago dogs don't look too appealing to me..

LA street dogs all day. :pimp:

There used to be this one dog cart in the SFV. It was some Jewish guy who owned the cart with his Salvi wife... They made the best LA dogs..
Just your typical LA street dog with the works.. (bacon wrapped dog, grilled peppers & onions, steamed bun, mayo/ketchup/mustard)
What made theirs special.? They used Hebrew National franks.. it made a huge difference IMO

I always got a chuckle from the irony of using a kosher weenie and then wrapping it in bacon, but those kosher dogs are the best.!
The only franks I buy when making hot dogs at home.

LA street dog> your favorite hot dog

Tomatoes on a hot dog do nothing for me

Pickle spear unnecessary too. Much prefer relish on a dog

The rest of the Chicago dog works for me though

Chicago-style dogs seem to be an issue of texture, consistency, and redundancy.
Why that whole pickle spear?
Why pickle AND relish?
Why not cut those sport peppers and tomatoes down a bit?

Just seems like an engineering nightmare TO ME.
Chicago dogs can definitely be too much for some. I always eat the pickle & peppers on the side. I chase a bite of the dog with a bite of pepper and pickle. Don't think I've ever seen anyone eat the pickle on the dog.

rooster rooster Do you eat the pickle on the dog?

No I take the pickle out and eat just like you
The peppers I keep on
I eat the whole pepper when I take a bite
Can’t be having sport pepper juice squirting everywhere
