my friends parents have been taking in exchange students. each person is different the one they have now just plays wow and never leaves the house.

They are all different honestly. The ones from Japan though seem to be fairly funny/cool from the ones I've met (and i've met quite a few). Japan people usually are down to try a whole mess of stuff and experiences. Will be down to drink no matter how nerdy you think they are when they show up. May be shy at first, but it is just cultural. Go out and have some drinks with them, it is how people in Japan get to know each other. I had a German guy that sucked, all he did was listen to the same Nelly Furtada song and play poker online for 6 months. Actually, the only really bad experiences I've had with foreign exchange students are with the German ones lol. They are either really awesome, or really lame, no in between.

there were german exchange students at my high school for a few weeks. they had nazi patches on their bookbags, which was weird since i think they were jewish and stayed with jewish host families. they listened to metal and did drugs with my friends. one of the girls was also a cutter.
in college, there was a girl from japan that was in our large circle of friends. one time for her birthday, a few of us guys took her out. made her drink 6 shots at a bar in the span of a few minutes and convinced her to go to a stripclub. i sat next to her in the car and her breath smelled like gasoline. she puked in the parking lot then we bought her a lapdance from this hot russian. she came back out looking traumatized, but we all knew she enjoyed it.
