What is not mutilated currency?

Any badly soiled, dirty, defaced, disintegrated, limp, torn, worn, out currency note that is CLEARLY MORE than one-half of the original note, and does not require special examination to determine its value. These notes should be exchanged through your local bank and processed by the Federal Reserve Bank.

That's what I heard in the past, as long as it's more than half the bill, it should work..never heard of the visibility of both serialnumbers..

got played by the wells fargo, smh...good info, i'll have to try another bank

Yeah, that's what I heard, too. You should go back to the bank and if they don't exchange it, then ask to talk to their supervisor whoknows what's up.

I thought banks were supposed to take the mutilated bills back as long as you had 51% of it.
If your bank doesn't take it, demand the supervisor as previously posted and if no luck, tell them you're switching banks.

if you have 51% of the bill which you clearly do they can exchange it for you...ask to speak to a manager

You can see it on the top left corner....

They still won't take it?

Yea ive hard about the 51% also. But bank tellers have always told me they both serial numbers have to be visible.

i work for a credit union and we need 3/4's of the bill - we must have 1 FULL serial number and have partial serial number on the other 1/4 - you have morethan enough to warrant an exchange for another bill

Yeah, so stop making a thread about it like it's a big deal. I was looking for 20 today, you didn't read my thread? Should just mail itto me if you don't know what to do with it.

when I worked for Commerce we would change it if was more than 51%

If you cant change it at a bank go to supermarket or store with self checkout and see if the machine takes it
