At the end of the day, the root of the discussion is a damn BET Best New Artist Award, not a NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award or a Nobel Peace Prize so get out of here with that condescending "my culture and w/e culture you're apart of aint the same thing at all".

In the context of that, Fetty Wap (or Rae Sremmurd or whatever other urban artists lost the award) is definitely more important to the culture than Sam Smith.

But you know what, maybe you are older and don't go out like that so you aren't really aware of how heavy Fetty was in parties and clubs. In which case, you should stop speaking on things you aren't educated on.

I totally agree that Fetty was more important to black culture than Sam Smith. I don't even care for Fetty's music either. Fetty was definitely the newcomer of the year for the BET crowd of black people.
