Getting a 2001 Chevy Malibu. Need Help

NT, I'm finally getting my 1st car. A 2001 Chevy Malibu.

What are the pros and cons of this car? What should I look forward to (or not look forward to)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the car THAT bad? I mean, I heard it was bad, but I didn't know it was like that.

And I'm at the point that I just NEED a decent car. I don't have much money and I'm getting it for $1,500. IDK if I could get a car for that price.

I have a 99 malibu, and I love it. Reliable, 90 thousand miles so far and no major repairs. Even the stock speakers are decent. Malibus are a nice first car.

Well, it is a family friend (Mechanic BTW) who's moving to another country and is pretty much selling everything he has to come up with some extra money.

the engine will never die. not sure about mechanical problems specific to the car, but i know i've seen some with really beat up interiors; not sure aboutthe fit and finish on those.

I had one of them a couple years back. Good on gas, low insurance payment, its a good first car. Don't worry about the haters, just make sure the priceis right based on the going price for the car obviously.

Don't listen to anyone knocking this car.

I had a 99 for almost 2 1/2 yrs.

I got it with 105k. When I sold it, it had 155k. Only money I put in the car was new tires. Its a good car.

When I had my 03 cts it reminded me of the malibu with more luxury ride.

I shouldn't have sold it bc the kid I sold it to still has it n its still running great 3 yrs later.

$1500 is not bad for a first car.

i had an 01 impala for over a year that never gave me any problems.

just keep up on the maintenance and you should be good. congrats on getting your first car!
