  And that's my issue with Osteen, he preaches a prosperity gospel and almost never does he mention salvation through Jesus Christ.  He tends to bring a feel-good message that tries to give you a sense of security, but doesn't really say anything.  God wants everybody to be rich?  Really? If you're not rich, you're not doing it right? Money = joy?

  He makes it sound like it's all about us, that we need to do certain things for us to be happy.  When in fact, all the work was already done by Jesus on the cross.

God promises that he provides us all we need in Him.  He also promises that His will is perfect and that all works out to the good of those who love Him.  But suffering and hardship are a part of life on this earth.  We learn from hard situtations and they make us who we are.  Our main purpose isn't to avoid hardship and pursue comfort.  We're not supposed to be ultimately comfortable and satisfied on earth.  Some people will have it harder than others.  But we are called to endure the sin and suffering of this world while spreading the Gospel, but to long for heaven, where one day those in Christ can be with Him in perfect community with no more sin, no more suffering, no more sickness, and no more sadness
