Haters always talking about LeBron isn’t top 10-15 but can’t name said players that are better

Uhhh, Jerry Krause stated many times MJ not once asked him to make any changes or trades. Krause said MJ thought he was so good he could win with anyone.

LeTrade is the opposite and just recently stated he has tried to recruits guys to play with for almost two decades.

FYI, Horace Grant was an all star only once lol.

MJ during the first threepeat was better than during the second (in fact his first threepeat was easily the best three consecutive years for any individual player, rivaled only by Shaq from 1999-2002). His supporting cast during the first was not as good as the supporting cate from the second but his greatness still grabbed three straight titles.

Again, MJ is the GOAT because of what he did from 1984-1093 alone. He could have never come back from baseball and he'd still be the GOAT and a first ballot HOFer. Nevertheless, he enjoyed a better cast than LeBron suffered from a 2003 to 2010 with a lesser supporting cast than MJ had from 1990-1993.

MJ did did not care for his body to the same extent as LeBron. In his 30's, MJ needed more help and Krause provided that help. Again, having the best all around player, the best rebounder/big man stopper, the best 6th man, and a the best sniper allowed MJ to win another three straight.


I suppose my proposition is that MJ was so good that he doesn't even have to flaunt his rings, as proof of his GOAT status.

If a few role players for the other teams had hit wide open shots and a few of MJ's teammates failed to hit a few shots or to create an extra four to five extra possessions, MJ isn't six of six in the finals.


TL;DR

MJ beats LeBron based on the "eye test." That's it.

However, if a few trades and drafts and shots in the NBA had gone a slightly different way, LeBron would be six of six in the finals or even eight of eight, but Bron would still not be the GOAT (though he'd be damn close). Meanwhile, MJ could be three of six in the finals and still be the GOAT.

We really must disentangle individual players from the broader context of their GM's and teammates' ability to trade and draft well or to hit open shots late in a finals game, respectively.

I agree, I don't see why it's being discussed in church at all but this idea that, "Jordan stans are the wildest stans that ever lives" well if you were alive to experience JORDAN you would understand why that's the case. (That's my stance to anyone that wasn't alive during the time, not necessarily YOU)

To be fair you were born in 86 - that’s like saying I was there for Bird’s prime. Sure I was alive, but as a 3-10 year old I can’t say I could give you any decent contemporaneous analysis of his prime.

39 is no expert on Jordan. I’m a handful of years older than you and I was in 5th grade when the bulls won the first title. You was in high school when LeBron got drafted

I didn’t start watching games for real till 93’ remember being sad af when he retired the 1st time ,I had the vhs boxsets w/ Air time & come fly with me,and use to buy the championship season VHS’s too

can’t speak on 80’s MJ,but backend prime/final 3 peat I gotcha

We have access to the past now more than ever for research cause people will perpetuate MJ as the most perfect player,his lowlights are more hidden than LeBron’s
