good bars in the city

Im coming up to the city this weekend and was wondering what are some good streets that have many bars or any good bars in general. preferably one without a cover charge because i dont believe in that kind of stuff. Also not a gay one. Thanks

off the top of my head:

by union square there's geary between mason and leavenworth that has:

ambassador
rye
swig
slide

in the mission there's 16th street between south van ness and valencia with:

dalva
double dutch
skylark
pink

There's other stretches out on Broadway and Columbus in Northbeach and out in the Marina but those aren't really my scenes and I can't remember the names of the bars out there.

If you're into hip hop, this weekend the bar/restaurant (Poleng) my buddies and I run are having a couple good events.

As a matter of fact, we're having our monthy in house party on Friday so if you want guestlist, let me know.
