BUMP...i know more than half of you have computer speakers

Get some Logitech or Altec Lansing speakers. Cheap and effective. Go Bose or something if you want to spend a lil more.

Logitech Z-2300 for 2.1
Logitech Z-5500 for 5.1

Or if you find some older Klipsch Promedias

well NVM i just looked at these speakers and those damn subs are BOOOMIN i might consider the z5500

I have two sets of 2.1's -- they kill anything. Defiantly worth the money.

That @$*! is crap. Don't even listen to what this dude suggest. How you gonna give car audio advice and not know a @$*! about computerspeakers? Anything that doesn't require a/c power source is crap. Not to mention that brand alone is what you call a K mart brand, son you got gipped ifyou thinking you gettin deals coppin' things like that.

Oh, im sorry. I mean't to say it belongs with all those white van speaker scammers outside of BestBuy. Does not deserve to be in a franchiselike K-Mart.

I'm using Logitech's X-540 with my PS3 right now since I'm just using my laptop nowadays. Picked it up for $60 during Circuit City's sale, theyretail for $100 but I'm sure you could get it for cheaper online somewhere. I love them especially while watching movies.

You clearly know NOTHING about audio. That pos setup in your caralready proved that. Logitech speakers are crap. Period. They don't have a high level of detail and their audio fidelity (producing sound as similar to thesource as possible) is weak. The subs are loud and boomy and aren't very accurate or fast. For the money you can easily do much much better (even if yousuccumb to getting a HTiB from onkyo or yamaha rather than piecing it together yourself), 'specially if you intend to use it for movies/music. If youintend to use it for music primarily, you probably shouldn't even worry about getting a surround set as a pair of active monitors for $150-200 will producemuch cleaner, accurate, and full-bodied sound than plastic PC speakers.

Self-powered
RCA > Swan, end of story. You baggin on my JL's shows you do not appreciate a good brand, and you suggesting brands like swan is a sign youlike generics. No need to get technical with it son, self powered is what makes the speaker #$++. Point blank you aint getting no good sound relying on yourheadphone jack for power. And this is comin from someone with a "POS car setup"

Wow

You just proved how smart you are. Self powered means you don't need external amplification(receiver) since they already have an integrated amp.
