Group Text Messages

why is that when you're sent a picture or joke via text on a group message, you respond and get several numbskulls asking who you are?

I commonly get 2-3 three "who is this" messages after a group text. I used to reply, but now its a waste of time bringing people to the 21st century.

I only made this thread because this morning one lame decided to keep calling and texting me when I didnt respond.

What is a good site that I can register these numbers so that they get prank called non-stop??

its something with iphones i believe.....  its a setting..

since im an android user im not used to that happening.  My lil bro sent 1 and i responded, next thing i know im getting like 10+ text from randoms

So Mitchell, you're telling me that when you want to share something with friends and family, you send the message out to every individual? That would take me forever to do. But to each his/her own.

do you have an iphone?

when you have an iphone and you send a group text, it looks like an aim group chat. Everyones texts are going to the same spot....

if you dont then when someone responds you will get their text and you may not have their number...

so if you have an iphone, then the chances are that the other dude asking who you are doesnt... and when you reply to the group text, they are getting your number individually and dont really know that you are replying to the group text, or original texter...


does that makes sense? kinda hard to explain

Da Doc, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I only just got the iphone back in March and will never claim to be the most tech savvy, but damn it would seem others would have figured this out by now.

I understand Beezy, I'm just bothered by the fact the others dont. I figured this out a few years ago when I was still using android.

yea man... when it first happened i was like whats going on..thought my phone was trippin

whats funny is that since im on android, it shows up regular like a convo between me and him.  So i responded, "yea get me a 9.5 if they still there" and then i started getting the responses like... "who are you" 

so of course, i called my bro and he's like, "its that iphone group stuff" and also mentioned that he thought he could turn it off or something along those lines..

its a mess when strangers are involved but that thang when talking about sports or news or even the debates.

Once I figured it out, I never asked anyone their identity I would just delete the message and keep going.

My problem is that one person seems to think its funny to blow my phone up. SO I want to get them listed on some call sheets since they have time to waste. Any suggestions??

im almost sure theres an app or something that allows you to text them a ton of times in a specified amount of time... forgot what its called tho!

my buddy from XDA did it once... it sent me like 100 text in like 3 minutes... smh

we have an on going group text between 5 friends...I personally think it's great but besides that I stick to reg texting

got the iphone 5. i think you take it off in the settings, but i'm not sure. 

settings, messages, group messaging: OFF
