Growing Locs!!!!

Hello NT.... Im in the process of growing dreads and I need all the help I can get!! My homeboy has dreads and he is guiding me through the process but anyadditional help, or tips, etc would be greatly appreciated. I dont have twist or anything right now im just letting my hair get some length on it... Im blackif that matters
