Cliffs:
• Closing on my first home June 1st
• Apartment Lease Ends October 26, 2017
• Apartment wants June Rent + Lease Termination even though I won't be living there.
($2,000 once I've already moved out)
Rent is $1,015/month for a 2 bedroom.
Apartment doesn't allow subleasing or allowing someone to take over lease.
Considering:
• Finding a couple roommates to take over the lease until it ends without telling apartment complex. (I'd also be liable if these guys end up being douche bags and not paying or worse if there's criminal activity)
• Paying the $2,000 and being done with it...
(obviously this would be a huge financial hit and that money could be better served elsewhere for a new home owner...)
• Taking the temporary hit on my credit and letting them send it to collections and settling with the collections company for a lesser amount down the road...
What would you do? What do you know? Any advice would be appreciated.
