So I just got a PS3 slim but trying to hook it up to my TV down stairs that's only a Sony 720p and not a 1080p and I look at the back on the input is AVI?i see no HD port........says "HD AVI" isnt avi anolog? how is this going to be any better then just plain old rca cables? Ive never even heard ofthis.....Any help?

Depending on the cable brand (yes it does matter quality wise;get the best picture, color etc) id say go with the premium cables.

Compare cables if youd like, AVI will work fine for what you have.

your tv will perform better through AVI naturally, rca isnt the way to go at all.

I thought you were saying DVI, but no you were saying AVI.
DVI is better then AVI, better connection = colors, picture etc

If you need to exchange adapters, they make a couple of selections even a vga adapter (most common computer connection) but even now some monitors have hdmi.

Like some of my customers tell me, "technology has changed so much"

you need any help with stuff, pm me. ill gladly help you guys out.

Ummm maybe the PS3 slim is different but is there no HDMI port??

??? there's an HDMI port on the back. why would you need to convert the signal? also HDMI is digital and AVI is analog so you wouldn't even be able toconvert that signal over.

blah!
