HELL ON WHEELS!!! Am I late?

This show is great. I saw a season of deadwood and although the acting was very good it was lacking in entertainment. Deadwood  felt a little dragged out, too much dialogue not enough action. 
These shows are often lacking in historical accuracy but I think Hell on Wheels does a decent job showing the resistance of American occupation by Native Americans.

Common plays his role very well. The dynamic between "freed" slaves and their former masters is another interesting historic theme in the show. I know eventually the role Asians played in helping fulfill manifest destiny will be addressed.

I was able to watch episodes one and two.. Haven't had a chance to catch up the last few weeks episodes but the historical perspective (specifically diversity) is definitely a bit refreshing.. Acting is def far off from Deadwood based on the cast alone (have only seen 2 or 3 episodes of deadwood, currently finishing up season 4 of breaking bad) but yes I'd agree it moves at a faster pace from what I've seen.. I need to catch up to the last few episodes before I compare extensively to other shows.. Common has been decent from what I've seen and the "freedman's perspective" is rarely focused on in Hollywood. We often see the black individual as a slave and then people would like to skip to the civil rights era but often forget the near century of struggles that took place in between.. Not to forget the native perspective and well as asian american influence on the railroad to hopefully be included later.. can't complain though so far and this channel hasn't failed me yet..

I watch the show on Sundays. I love it because he keeps away from the cliches. I predicted Common and the Protanganist would get along and have some secret friendship when Common killed that man.

The other thread for some reason just stopped getting replies and I will admit compared to immediate suspense of Homeland, dopeness of Boardwalk Empire, and ppl criticizing Dexter this got put on the backburner.

I've been keeping up. Really like the show, just kinda wanna know where things are going. I'm most interested in Bohannon's and Durant's stories. Ferguson's role in the show is a nice back story as it develops with his jungle fever but I'm still bored with the native converting to Christianity, Lily and the maps, the Irish brothers trying to come up, and the reverend.

I know they're still fleshing out their stories so I can be patient but this season is gonna end soon and I'm not sure they'll get me hype for this season finale.

The Swede is a chilling antagonist/bad guy. He got that BWE swag. One of the most compelling characters so far.

The religious undertones in the movie are indeed fascinating. SMH @ my man converting to christianity

When he was telling his tribe about Jesus being their savior, Mary and the virgin birth in the church/tent

When the reverend's daughter made that off comment about his tribesmen who died, having no shot of going to Heaven cuz they weren't christian

Also did the chiefs son lose the race against the train on purpose? It looked like he pulled up and then the Chief gave him the bad stink eye after the race. I also think Black Moon will be knocking up the preachers daughter soon.

The Swede is one of the best villians on tv I love this character I hope he sticks around for a while, I almost wish they centered the show around him and not Bohannon.

I doubt he lost the race on purpose but it's something to think about
And the Swede is a goon. I knew dude was about that life when he pulled out the shotty. His accent is and mannerisms are lulz and terrifying

Best part about last nights episode was when the Svvvede stabbed homie in the face with a fork. 
Love this show. Hopefully this has a couple seasons in it.

I've tried to like this show. I really have.
I'm a sucker for Westerns.
It's decent. Not a show I need to watch the same day like The Walking Dead or SOA.
But I DVR it or on demand it..
I wasn't a huge fan of Deadwood either. Go figure.
I just don't find any of the characters, or the actors who play them, very likable.
All just my opinion. I haven't had time to watch the last 2 eps.

The only likeable character on deadwood was the doctor. Something about the show was just miserable to watch.

It had no entertainment value. I heard it gets better in future seasons but season 1 left a bad taste.
