help ID'ing a song -- techo/indie

hey guys.  i was at best buy today, and a song was playing in the instrument section.  it had a heavy, techno-like beat for the introduction.  singer/artist sounded like the guy from death cab for cutie.  ive searched the internet for it, but really have no idea what im lookng for.  anybody know what song this was?  i really liked the beat to it.  i know im being very vague.  thanks a lot.
