Help on purchasing First New Car!

08 civic is like 15k on the honda website.... so i dunno if that's with mark up on your site or what.

but if you're going to spend a little over 20k then I would skip honda and buy a WRX...but that's just me.

you're asian (vietnamese) aren't you? but anyways, i'm from san jose too. if you do end up buying the honda, shop at capital honda first. stevenscreek honda has higher markups.

why not consider the new altima? decent power, looks good and its a couple grand cheaper then then accord.

^ ^ markup is different for every dealer. they'll tack on whatever they want.

I am in so cal... sorry

If any one else wants to purchase a Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo, Mazda, Saturn, or Honda e mail me at la7175@mac.com

Oh yeah, we got Aston Martin too, Early.

i used to work in car sales, so i know some things. PM Me with any question you got, ill be glad to help.
But, Only fools buy new cars..they have to be some of the biggest wastes of $$ on earth.
Only fools pay sticker price on cars.

If you really want to get a good deal on a car, go to the dealership the last Saturday of the month, around 3-4pm and start your negotiating process then.
WHY? Salesman have quotas to meet for the month, they also have weekend competitions where if they sell 4+ cars that weekend, or 2-3cars in 1 day they win XXamount of prize money, which is sometimes HIGHER then the commission they make on the car, so they are more negotiable.

When negotiating, talk the price of the car down first. Get that to where you feel comfortable. ALWAYS reject the first few sets of # they bring you, the 1stone is the MARKED UP price, 2nd one is the price its supposed to be normally, 3rd set is usually where negotiating begins.

Why go for a 2007-2008 Honda Accord when they are IDENTICAL to the 2004 Honda Accord when they made the body style change. Save your dad some $$, even if hewants you to buy new, go used.

I just went to the Honda dealership today and bought a 2008 Si coupe. I was at the dealership for about 5 hours negotiating. ok, first of all be prepared anddo your homework first before walking into a dealer. Walk in knowing exactly how much you're willing to pay for the car. Research what others have paidand that will give you a good idea of what you're jumping into. I don't really believe in going to a dealership during certain times of the month. Ifyou know what you want, you'll get it. Deals are always there, you just have to work to get them. Just be realistic about the price. You'll see abunch of prices: Invoice, MSRP, Sticker. The sticker from I understand is the market value of the car. It varies from where you're located. For examplethe MSRP for my car was 21,745 but the sticker for the Si was at 25,000+. Basically they wanted around 28,000 out the door including tax/fees(that'swithout navi). Sites like Vehix will only show you the MSRP of the car and not the sticker. So expect to see the car you want marked up. It takes timebecause they'll keep shooting you BS, so stay firm with your price. Don't be afraid to walk away. They need to sell you the car, you don't haveto buy it. Whatever they offer you, another dealership will be willing to beat that price. In my case today I knew that I didn't want to pay a penny morethan 22,000 out the door. It was like pulling teeth with them but after 5 hours they gave me 22,000 out the door not a penny more. I knew I could go toanother dealer and they would beat the price but after 5 hours I was done. The dealer didn't have the color I wanted so they had to do a dealer trade andwas going to charge me for that but I was like NO WAY. So now they're locating the car for free and I should have it in a couple days.

Good luck with your search. Hopefully you'll have a good car buying experience. No one should be at a dealership for 5 hours! I was motivated to get thedeal I wanted. Hopefully it's in and out for you.

oh yeah, if you end up having to buy a sedan... get the civic with navi. It will cost as much as the accord.

hey bbear thanx, it really helped me, if i ever need help, do you mind if i PM you?

thanx in advance
