Lost: After seasons 1/2 it got ridiculously corny. Just awful.

Prison Break: Same story as Lost. Terrible after S1.

The Wire: Excellent 1st season and got gradually better (until 5)

The Sopranos: 2nd favorite show next to the wire.

Boardwalk Empire

(I think all of the above had very good first seasons).

Heroes for sure. One of the best first seasons out of any show I've watched. The fact that they managed to make a network drama about superpowers not corny was why it was so successful early on. I'd get hyped every time some of the people with superpowers would get close to meeting each other
