i was sittin up in the cribs gettin blunted and i was lookin at the various amount of crap i got, cuz imma straight up pack right...love collecting things that
interest me, so i start staring at these action figures i got still in they're plastic boxes...a old mulit jointed spiderman
and this rare set of MK figures, im missin the other 1/2 of em which imma buy when soon enuff...i be forgettin..lolz
so anywayz, i was thinking to myself...why don't todd Mc farlene or some noteworthy figure maker just license the likeness to a couple of rappers, create
and sculpt some figures based on em, and package albums with em? the way we talk about rappers in this forum reminds me of the way i used to be on the
playground and we all used to argue "how spiderman would smack pavement into batman" and somehow people could somehow conjur up a argument on how
batman would beat him....and if step up the age level a little you'd here people arguing "hey X-men's comic pencil work is WAY BETTER thenanything then
the hulk comics as a whole"....
these rappers are as much of a entertainment entity and franchine as there fantasy hero counterparts, which arguably as much passionate fans....
so by creating a lane a toy company comes out with a series set of rapper action figures, detailed enuff to here they look just like em and you could actually"play"
with em but make em at a price point where you wouldn't think twice of picking it up.....
i mean think about it, it would create a whole new way to market rappers....
imagine a series one of "jay-z, nas, biggie, pac, scarface"
its known that rappers change overtime so you can create Variants of the same rapper based on the years of they career for example a "illmatic nasfigure"
packaged with illmatic, and nas wearing a army suit, and he can have accessories with him like "a old hennesy bottle, his old yellow QB chain"
or you can have the "streets disciple nas" figure wearing a king tut outfit with a golden goblet, etc.
shoot i know if they ever did that i'd cop every single one of em....imagine a killa cam action figure based on his purple haze album....it would come withpurple
haze (the album) and his rockin a purple mink, a rocafella chain, and you can drop a quickstrike variant pink mink version.....the possibilites are endless inmy
opinion.
its been already proven that we would cop rapper merchandise if its done and represented well ....look at def jam vendetta, that game rocked!.....and so far
every rapper figurine or doll ever dropped sold WELL.....
imagine expanding on something like this....include a album, make limited edition ones, create hype, drop quick strikes.....
what ya think?
