Home Security??? (apartment)

Any of you guys reccomend a good home security service? i don't really need top of the line cameras and all that but if someone kicks in the door

whether i'm there or not i'd like for the police to check it out

burglary is crazy around my area so anyone have any info?

I hear you, but, you ever thought of moving? Peace of mind is easy to buy with a new place, instead of security alarms and all the blah blah blah, cops are on the way crap. If you are worried about your door getting, neighborhood is not that great, so how fast would the cops get there anyway?????

Invest in this....(StrikeMaster 2 Door Frame and Hinge reinforcement).

Secondly ask your apartment manager if you can install a security door (probably not). Also ask if you can install a superior deadbolt in your door as opposed to the @%*++!%* one your %!#!%*% apartment ownership installed (they're all $!+**@$+) to save money. Also ask if you can replace interior doors with more solid, non-hollow core doors (metal or wooden). 

Also cover your windows with 3M Security Window tint. 

Ask your apartment manager if you can install interior burglary window bars inside your apartment. 

Invest in one of these for patio sliding doors (master lock window and patio door lock with alarm). Also have 3M Security Window tint installed on the sliding doors if they also have glass. 

Itemize ALL your valuables, talk to your insurance company. Be thorough, make sure they take all your needs/items needs into consideration in regards to your policy. 

If your apartment allows it, buy a dog (preferably a pit, German Shepard, Rotty etc). If they're breed restrictive it's okay get one anyways as most burglars don't want to deal with that.

If you can afford it invest in an alarm system (ADT for example), make sure you get a permit for your alarm system or else expect a lofty bill from the city if local law enforcement ever has to respond to an alert. 

Invest in a firearm and become properly trained in using it/maintaining it. 

G'luck, burglary is no joke. Never lie down and let someone take yours, ever.

I would hate to live an apartment where I consider installing more than 2 of those that you listed.

I would go with a blue nose pit & red doberman combo + a handgun.

My alarm system, dogs and firearms help me sleep good @ night.. I dont live in a bad area but having my remington 870p max within arm's reach of my bed is a comforting feeling

SneakerHeathen pretty much covered all the bases. If you want demo's of the 3M Security window film/tint in action, Youtube it. Crazy what it can do.

Dog and firearm works, Dog will usually stay at home while you are at work for 8-10 hours, so that helps as well. Intruders/Thieves avoid houses with dogs not only because of the immediate danger (obvious), but also a dog can bring attention to the crime by barking. Major deterrent.

this is true, as 70% of all burglaries happen in the mornings between the hours of 7-10 AM...
They don't want you to be home, they'll take their time and clean your house out looking like they're supposed to be there. You'll come home to absolutely nothing.

However a trained dog (housebroken so he doesn't have to be caged when you're gone) can always protect your household in your absence. A word of device for those with lapdogs, they don't work as well as bigger dogs. A burglar can tell the difference and they'll murk a lil dog with no remorse. They hear a bark with some bass in it, they'll think twice before wanting to tangle with whatever's behind that door of yours.

what's the point? even if you capture a burglar's face you'll never again see your things, they'll move your stuff in a matter of hours for pennies on the dollar.

I'll just take your safe bruh, we'll get it open eventually. 
in all seriousness, you don't want your crib broken into period. the whole point is to harden your house as a potential target. you want your crib to be the least likely target a potential burglar wants to have to deal with. 

what's a safe really going to do but say "here, here's the REALLY valuable stuff" once they've taken your kicks, your electronics, and your miscellaneous valuables? They'll just take that %*%* too and get the locksmith homie or the blowtorch homie to get that %*%* open.
