- Reached for a small backup point guard in the first round (Darren Collison)
- Gave in to the local media pushing for "drafting" the undersized, unathletic hometown wing (Marcus Thornton)
- Passed on potentially the best athlete in the draft whom nobody expected to fall as far as he did (Sam Young)
- Considering trading Tyson Chandler for Ben Wallace
- Pursuing Janeero Pargo after drafting a backup point guard
- Pursuing Joe Smith
- James Posey is still on the team
- Hilton Armstrong is still on the team

Edit: I just read that Bower was down to a point guard or DeJuan Blair at 21, and he ends up going with Collison.

Is it October yet or what?!

Honest question.

When he's up, CP3 stay on this team?

Have to believe that after the 2010 blood bath is over with Bron/Wade etc, the next player that teams will line up for will be Mr Paul in 11, 12?

CP3 signed an extension prior to this past season...he should be a free agent in 5 years or so.

Whaaaaat? Really? What kind of money? I thought he did that one or two year player option thing that young players do, I never heard of any 70-80 milliondollar deal he did.

Opt out clause?

in 12, barring injury, he would command highest dollar of anyone after the Bron summer. (D12 prolly up there too)

I haven't checked his contract, so he might have an opt out clause.

If he does, the Hornets are screwed

Not saying I want this to happen, would the Hornets pick up the phone and offer Posey to us if we lose Ariza?

Not you KLJ, the Hornets. I know you would have already called us 6 times by now.

They would just want a cheap contract in return right? Sasha's 2 years 10 mill low enough to give up Pose?

Eh, lookin at Hoopshype you would only save about a mill and an extra year off the books is all.

No deal I guess.

Talking to some people in his camp, Chris Paul is really happy with New Orleans.

The Hornets' office management has pretty much realized they need to try and keep him, similar to Kobe in LA, Bron in CLE, after watching the mistakes theNew Orleans Saints have made for the last 30 years or so of never having that "marquee player" draw, so expect them to prepare cap space for that'11-'12 season.

Hmm... I don't think Pargo is our answer, just because of his size. I'd like to see us go after a Mickael Pietrus type.

Got to dump Peja's contract and Chandler's contract ASAP.

The incredibly logical thing to do would have been drafting Sam Young, but I know that's too much to ask for from Jeff Bower and company.

Didn't they trade their 2008 draft pick to Orlando in which they drafted Courtney Lee too?

You hit the nail on the head with the "local media" comment. Last year, ticket sales were all over the place, great initially from theseason before, and then when the team went into mediocrity, so do ticket sales. I'm guessing the front office figured this would help.

We need to trade Peja to one of those teams who think they're contending next year and needs another piece. And Chandler... we just need to get rid of.

You should know better than anyone. They selected Darrell Arthur, sent him to Portland, Portland sent him to Houston and Houston sent him toMemphis.

I hope you find another team CP3! Don't sign an extension whenever you're up for free agency!
