Let's get a thread started on house cleaning tips.

Lots of NTers are at the point of moving out and I think we should have a place where questions get answered about upkeep.

I'll try to update the OP.

First question...

How do I get my toilet/tub icy white, like how it was when I first moved in??
 
When your fridge gets gross, use a combination of vinegar and baking soda on the area. Then put some vinegar on it.

This keeps my fridge SO clean :hat
 
Vinegar also helps get rid of water spots on your car n on glass.

@Fontaine  try using bleach or vinegar on your toilet

Comet powder all over the tub. Let it soak in for like 10 min then add water and scrub. Works on sink and toilet bowl pretty good too.
 Anyone got a swifter? Any good???

Swiffer is good money brah. A lot more convenient than busting out a mop. Use it when I spill **** on the tile all the time

Using a 50/50 of vinegar and water will get a lot of stains out of your tub and help it maintain that bright white look..

Swiffers suck..don't get one of the ones that squirt the solution on the floor to mop your tile/hard wood..All they do is push the dirt around and don't pick up anything like they show on the commercial..A regular swiffer is good for light dusting, but if it's been awhile since you've dusted nothing beats some good old Pledge and a cotton cloth..

Oh and btw, contrary to what a lot of people think, bleach basically sucks for cleaning anything..

Changing your furnace filter at least once a month will not only help keep the dust down in your house, but will save on your energy bills..The dirtier it is the harder your furnace/AC unit has to work which means higher bills..

Putting weather stripping around your door frames will help save on your energy bills too..If you don't have any, or can't find it at your local hardware store, try using a rolled up beach towel/bath towel rolled up at the bottom of doors leading outside..Helps keep your house an even temp.

CLR works great to clean your shower head and will get your toilet bowl nice and shiny..

Yea seems likewhen using a Swiffer you would have to use numerous pads in order to clean a floor. Seems like they pick up dirt fast and run out of room within the first few square feet of a floor, then like @casekicks  said they just push dirt all over the place, no longer picking up or cleaning a thing. 
 
Cosign on the swiffer, it sucks.

Ok for a small spill, turrible to clean a floor with.
 
peroxide and baking soda is good for removing stains, cleaning the dishwasher, cleaning the tub, also you can use the detergent color safe Clorox to get rid of rust stains in tubs sinks etc...you can use fabric softener sheets and water to get a streak free clean on glass shower doors...
 
:lol at ****** having white bath tubs still. Black lacquer in 2014 FTW. But if it's not YOUR place (as in you are renting it, and can't control that kinda stuff) then I understand. I'm in that same lituation. But best believe in the spot that ima own, straight black lacquer tubs, god.

All you need to keep ya spot clean is some Fabuloso and a good thick scrubbing sponge. Get on ya knees and get to work. After ya floor is suddy, get that wet mop and mop it up. Throw a couple drops of organic eucalyptus oil in the mop water (keeps it fresh and gives a good fragrance). They sell small bottles of it at Vitamin Shoppe.

I have air purifiers in a couple rooms for odor control. Vacuum every couple days, you'd be surprised what odors get caught in the rug. Carpet Fresh is winning.

I use this Lysol spray stuff on my shower door and the tub.

Wash your sheets and blankets etc regularly.

Most of my cleaning is odor control because the pack is too vocal tbh.

In though.
 
The mexican homies put me up on game with this. It's great for bathroom cleaning and will leave EVERYTHING smelling extra good.
