How about an NT Artist of the month thread?

12 Months, 12 NT artists, 12 one month showcases. I know we can scrape up 12 people willing to post up a couple tracks, get some exposure and hopefully somegood feedback. The hardest thing would be the qualification process you can't just co-sign ANYBODY! I was thinking something like: 5 songs minimum OG andIndustry Beats are acceptable All genres are welcome Producers are eligible And you must have a majority vote on an odd numbered panel of judges (3,5,7,whatever). I was also thinking that you had to have an NT SN to be showcased but who knows how that might fly? We could get a sticky posted up from the 1st tothe 1st. It doesn't seem THAT hard to organize, I think it might work. Anybody else think so?

I always come into threads like this with that exact notion, but the idea is to keep it simple so that it's easy to follow up on. I mean really it could beas easy as picking out 3 or 4 ahead of time and getting their submissions ready. I mean all by myself I could showcase 3 or 4 NT artists you know?

But if enough people show interest it really shouldn't be too-too tough to pull off.

Trust me, while it may seem like it's a lot of folks doing the artist thing, about 80 percent of them are perpetrating. And another 5percent has no business playing their "music" for ANYBODY. Factor in for lack of interest and participation and you're down to 12...

I think it would be cool to "follow" the featured artist for the entire month, too. Have them continue to drop off new material in the threadthroughout their month... i.e. producers dropping off beats they just finished/rappers dropping off freestyles. I know I'm not the only one who would liketo hear some of the material that NT artists/producers throw to the side/in their vault, never to be heard by any of us.

Also, if you decide to spotlight 2-3 artists per month, then try to have them be rapper/producer combos and such, and have the Featured Artists do a collabthat month. It would bring all the NT artists together and I'm sure there would be some crazy/interesting combos of style that would come out of that.

Of course... Anyone who joins in on this has to put in the work to make it all worth it.

It would suck to see them go ghost during their featured month and only post like once or twice in the thread.

I can certainly appreciate "different" and I can't deny the merit of the song, but you missed me with that one...

Do we have artists post their music in the thread in public? OR should the auditions be held offline?

I doubt that anybody is going to sprinkle new music throughout the thread during a month, from the NT Mixtapes I've come to find out that some folks arejust stingy with their music, the best I'm hoping for is the top 5 throwaways and maybe some cool threads about how they came about, maybe their newfavorite joint.

I'm not saying that 2-3 folks CANT be spotlighted, I'm just saying I'm not organizing that movement.
