Anytime i watch something involving a rope bridge i ask myself this same question...

The only way I can think of is that they would have the rope bridge built, drop it on one side then someone goes to the bottom
Of the canyon and grab that end of the bridge. Then they would take that end across to the other side and somehow climb the
Canyon while holding on to their end of the rope bridge. Finally once they climbed that side of The canyon they would fasten the
Bridge and it would be suspended across The canyon.

My guess is they would build the bridge, then lasso one end across to the other side. Then some brave soul will climb/crawl across the rope bridge and tie the other end.
