do i need to buy Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable? male or female?

'Preciate it NT

I would suggest you buy a third party brand. A lot cheaper and just as good.

You should've bought an external monitor with HDMI man. You could've bought a cable for like $5 and would've worked perfectly. I'm not really sure about those inputs but check Amazon out and check out what the customer reviews say and what the buyers are using it for.

It actually does matter.
The mini display port on the 08-09 model doesn't support audio, so you would need a seperate audio cable.

The mini display port on the 2010 model and the new Thunderbolt port in this year's model supports audio out.
